Crema's Take

Central Deli and Coffee draws folks in with a genuinely inviting atmosphere anchored by a beautiful water feature that makes it feel like a refuge from the busy Minneapolis streets. Their daily specials and Friday quesadillas keep regulars coming back, though the kitchen can be slow and the execution inconsistent—you might get a disappointingly thin sandwich or perfectly executed soup depending on the day. It's the kind of place where you can linger over coffee and a pastry for hours, assuming you're patient with the pace and willing to take the occasional culinary gamble.

I love the water feature! I get the daily special when I come here and they don’t disappoint! I can recommend the quesadillas on Fridays and then the chicken sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup also hits the spot.

Service is not great. I also found paper in my sandwich. I ordered a sandwich and waited for about 20 min for it to be prepared. I was curious why it was taking so long until I realized they had placed the sandwich on the table behind me without alerting me. To top it off, while I was eating my my sandwich I found a piece of paper in my sandwich. I looks like it the paper that the meat comes on when frozen. Not a great experience unfortunately.

Not a very good spot. Food was bland. Didn’t taste like it had any salt. Chicken was very dry. Server was inattentive and continued rolling up silverware even when I was clearly ready to order. There was one other person there besides me and they almost mixed up our orders.

This is my $17 without tip sandwich. I’m just disappointed with a sandwich called the “heartstopper” and I got this thin sandwich, just more bread then fillings. I go to a deli so I can get a thicc delicious sandwich, truthfully I’d be better off ordering from JJ in the north loop.

This is one of the hidden gems of Minnesota! This location is tucked, I wouldn't say its hidden but it's tucked in a great location. Prepare to circle the area for street parking, there is a parking ramp near by but you'll have to walk a bit to eat. I will say, this place is well worth the walk. Customer service is top tier, they treat every customer like they're the only customer even in a jam packed location. The food is outstanding! I would take this spot over Potbelly's, Subway, and Jimmy Johns! They offer so much for a wide spectrum of customers. There's so many items and so many menus available. I'll be ordering catering from this place for by org as much as possible. Once you go, you'll be hooked. The space is maximized with seating, looks like they want you to have meetings here, gatherings here, and stay awhile. It's a bit tougher to grab and go. You truly have to shuffle and dance with customers when you're grabbing and go. Let me know what you think!
