I've dined here a couple times. The food and pastries are always delicious. Good service. Only -1 star for espresso drinks. I got a latte & my mother got a cappuccino and in both- the espresso tasted on the burnt side. Will still come back for more food and pastries!
Have been wanting to try water Oak Café for a while and just visited today for the first time. Absolutely wonderful from the service to the food to the atmosphere. Everything was delicious. I had the chicken salad sandwich. My friend had the Montecristo and my other friend had pancakes. Definitely recommend this place. It is wonderful.
Finally! I brunch spot in Webster that checks all the boxes. Super cute, bright, vibrant vibe; welcoming atmosphere with a buzzing staff. Hubs and I ordered the Brisket Benedict & the Rise ‘n’ Shine breakfast sandwich- the food came out fast, hot, and deliciously homemade. Hubs got an old fashioned (to be fine tuned by the bar tender) and I got an iced hazelnut latte. Shout out to Allison G for the sweet & speedy service! The wait was long (obvi - Sunday brunch) so next time I would make reservations.
My wife and I LOVE Water Oak Cafe and Bakery — especially their shrimp and grits. Seriously, they’re so good that we had been dreaming about them all day. We placed an online order for a later pickup time (3:15 pm) and were counting the minutes. At 3:00 pm, I received a call from the manager saying they were actually closing at 3:00. I was disappointed and asked why we weren’t notified sooner since we absolutely could’ve picked it up earlier. She explained, very matter-of-factly, that their system only prints orders 15 minutes in advance. I told her that system really needs fixing. At that point, I was bummed — especially since no solution, freebie, or meaningful apology was offered. About 10 minutes later, though, I got a call from the owner, and this completely turned things around. By then I had really processed my disappointment (I really wanted those grits 😅), but she immediately apologized — and this time it was sincere and heartfelt. She offered a gift card to make it right and even mentioned that she read my order carefully, including my note about wanting extra shrimp and being willing to pay for it. She explained that there’s currently no option online to add extra shrimp (only in person), but she said she would look into adding that feature — which showed me she genuinely cared about the customer experience. Because of how amazing the shrimp and grits are and the way the owner handled the situation with care and accountability, I’m giving Water Oak 5 stars for the food and honestly a 10 for customer service. Mistakes happen — what matters is how they’re handled, and they absolutely got it right in the end. We’ll definitely be back ❤️🍤
So happy to have this location at Baybrook Mall! We visited Water Oak Cafe and Bakery for a weekday brunch and had a delicious meal and enjoyed the restaurant. We ordered the Vanilla Waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and the Water Oak Grilled Cheese with sun-dried tomato pesto. Coffee was really strong and very tasty. Both meals were excellent choices. The only concern we had was the cafe is noisy and it was hard to have a conversation across the table. We ordered two cookies to go and enjoyed them later that afternoon, delicious! Reservations are suggested! Location: 19325 Gulf Freeway, Suite 110, Webster, TX.
