Crema's Take

High Grade Coffee is a Red Hook gem that takes its espresso seriously while maintaining a refreshingly unpretentious approach to specialty coffee—their drip coffee reveals lovely berry and tart fruit notes, and their cortados are genuinely fantastic in a clean, modern space. The backyard seating with heaters and picnic tables creates an inviting spot to linger, and their fresh-baked goods (like their tangy lemon poppyseed muffins) pair perfectly with coffee that's smooth and well-balanced, never burned or overly acidic. With an actual roaster on-site and a warm, aesthetically considered atmosphere, it's exactly the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you want to become a regular.

Lovely Red Hook cafe with good beans. I had their drip which had good berry and tart fruit notes. Most people get espressos here it seems but I respect the drip for sure. If I lived nearby I'd come weekly.

Wanted to love this place, but so far it just hasn’t hit. Went twice and espresso drinks lacked flavor and the whole space kinda lacks character. Maybe I’ll give it another shot after they’ve been open longer.

Fantastic cortado in a very tidy yet aesthetic space. Nice place to grab a coffee and take a break. Some outdoor seating as well in the back.

Café with a real coffee roaster inside. Clean modern aesthetic. Backyard seating with heaters and picnic tables. My lemon poppyseed muffin was tangy and hit the spot. Two tops were a little wobbly.
