Phê Coffee Lowertown
289 5th St E, Saint Paul, MN
Crema's Take
“This Lowertown gem captivates with its immaculate vibes and genuinely kind baristas who take time to explain their craft, earning consistent praise for some of the best lattes in the city—especially their signature ube foam and playful creations like the Purple Lava. The thoughtfully curated menu shines with creative takes on classics (think Hot Salty Caramel Latte and pandan-forward espresso flights), though the unhurried pace rewards those who come to linger rather than rush. It's the rare coffee shop where excellence in both the cup and the human connection feels equally prioritized.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused, with creative signature drinks, matcha and tea options too, good cold brew. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings.

Very cute café downtown with a great variety of drinks and food. The pandan matcha was great, the waffle was a little bland for me, but the fresh fruit and whip was a nice addition
Kindest barista, and the actual best lattes I've ever had. Don't miss the purple lava, or anything with their ube foam. The vibes are immaculate, and the workers are so helpful and willing to explain the drinks and food if you need it. 10/10.

Have been here twice now. It is a beautiful space and calming atmosphere. Both times I went early in the morning. Service can take awhile but as long as you aren't in a hurry it's definitely worth the wait. I've had the iced flight, the purple lava, and the biscoffe croffle. The…
I got the flight with while milk, hot, and it was a great way to try several flavor profiles. The salted caramel was what you'd expect, the brown sugar was super sweet, the pandan was earthy in a good way, and the ube was sweet with a hint of coconut. I also got their ham and…
I love exploring cafes around the twin cities, so I was excited to check out this new spot! There were plenty of parking lots nearby, or you could park on the street like I did. I only paid 75¢ for an hour. I came on a Monday morning and it was pretty busy. But I was lucky to…
