Crema's Take
“Tucked inside a community center with views that steal the show, this harbourside tea spot serves up exceptional matcha and boba alongside a refreshingly low-key vibe perfect for lingering with friends or settling in with a laptop. The real draw here is the serene waterfront setting and genuinely kind staff who'll adjust the music so you can actually focus, making it feel less like a commercial transaction and more like discovering your own secret spot by the water.”

Tea was mid but the view was god tier. One of those spots where the real estate writes checks that the menu can't cash, and I’m okay with that. They have the whole front lobby to themselves, so that panoramic view kinda distracts you from drinking a totally average tea. Their matcha cheese foam cinnamon bun was pretty good though. The bun was fairly average, but the matcha cheese foam added a subtle salty-umami contrast that complemented the cinnamon sweetness.
I was looking for the blue line Maverick stop, and wound up here. Turns out it's not 'T' but it's Tea! Anyway, I enjoyed the hot cup of tea served by the hahbah. I got green tea. Beautiful view and delightful service from the new folks in the hood. Certainly wasn't any "Boston Tea Pahty", ya know?? I used to swim in the water and fool around by the docks over here as a youngin and can't BELIEVE how much this area has changed. Anyway, I have to catch my train!!
Tea by the Sea is weird but I kinda dig it. There's more signage outside for an ominously named "Overseas Student Service" rather than "Tea by the Sea" leading me to fear some poor foreign students get conscripted into serving us boba in between their classes. I love how this place is on the immaculate ground floor of a yuppie tower but still somehow manages to feel "real" with random untranslated things on the menu, hilariously loud beeps when inserting your phone number, and unashamedly Chinese interior design with hanzi pillows and cute animal plushies. Please never change these things. I can't believe people are actually complaining about the one new place that manages to have a unique aesthetic. My tea was delicious albeit pricey for just a medium hot unsweetened green tea. Do yourself a favor and try the cheese foam. If you come early enough, you'll have most of this enormous place to yourself with spectacular views of the harbor, warm tea, and a good book to keep you company.
Super cool tea spot- Tea by the Sea has some incredible Matcha. Cool, refreshing, and just hits the spot. The store itself is nestled within a community center but has all around amazing views of Downtown Boston. Overall, recommend a visit if you’re in East Boston and craving some quality tea.
Delicious boba tea! Such a peaceful location by the sea - I went with friends to co-work, and we absolutely loved the view. The workers were so kind to even lower the volume of the music playing to be mindful of whenever we had calls to take. Best place to work from home!! Recommend parking at the park nearby!
