The 18hundred
1800 Chester Ave, Bakersfield, CA
Crema's Take
“Tucked into downtown Bakersfield, this spot beautifully balances a full brunch and dinner menu with a dedicated coffee bar that draws regulars back for favorites like their Bee's Knees Latte. The charm lies in its family-friendly vibe and genuinely sweet staff who create a quaint atmosphere that locals love, though service consistency seems to be a work in progress. If you're after quality coffee drinks alongside solid comfort food like their standout Philly cheesesteak, this independent gem is worth a visit.”

Great food and quaint little place downtown. The only issue was our waiter and waitress weren't really great. But still a great spot and definitely recommend.
One of my favorite brunch spots. Very family-friendly and the staff are really sweet! They also have a great coffee bar if you want to order a quick drink. My go-to is the Bee’s Knee Latte. The tomato soup and grilled cheese is super flavourful and great on a cold day 💗
This was my first experience at the 1800 and it was very pleasant. I had the philly cheesesteak with onion rings, and the flavor was phenomenal. Not sure the seasoning on the onion rings, but it was delicious. At our table, we had vanilla, milkshake, coffee, milkshake and the carat cake. The brownie on top of the milkshake was huge. The flavor was delicious. Great service.Great ambiance.I love the decor will definitely be back.
Stopped I. Here while passing through and the place and food felt a bit souless. I'm sure there are better places to eat and the burger was just eh. Not bad, but not worth the stop. Also, the bathroom could use some love - dirty, missing components, and the bathroom fan needs a good clean. You can tell a lot about a business by how they maintain their bathrooms. If their public facing bathroom is this dirty, what does their kitchen look like?
Im sure The 18hundred is a great choice for a good meal. The service was lacking the day we visited. It took almost 30 minutes after being seated to get anyone to come to the table for drinks. The food is delicious but served on the smallest plates possible making it difficult to cut your food. I rarely complain but hope that everyone visiting has a better experience than me.
