Crema's Take

Free Flow Kitchen in Evanston feels like stepping into someone's warm, welcoming home, where the staff treats you like family and the Southern comfort food—especially their standout shrimp and grits—tastes genuinely homemade with generous portions and loads of flavor. It's the kind of cozy, laptop-friendly spot that works equally well for a solo coffee and pastry, a group gathering, or lingering over their excellent peach cobbler, all backed by genuine hospitality that keeps people coming back.

This is my new favorite place. It has a very friendly atmosphere, even from the strangers that are dining in. The food and the environment has that homie feeling. Deja different Ways that you can other you can call ahead, you can do it online you can order from the QR code and they also have a screen with the menu. The food is excellent it has that homemade flavor. The coffee is great from a local vendor . The plates are very generous. I highly recommend the turkey plate, with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes . But the tacos are also good. For breakfast I recommend the vegetable omelette it comes with two sides. It's absolutely delicious ! When I crave something sweet I ordered a berries crepes it comes with eggs and a side. The staff is Great they are very welcoming. I love the way the restaurant looks! The art work on the walls come from local artists and some you can purchase. They also cater. I highly recommend this restaurant come and check it out!💗

We had a large group and got a variety of items. Everything was made fresh and delicious, but the shrimp and grits and the shrimp po’ boy were next level! Large, flavorful shrimp. The bread for the po’ boy was authentic, too. It takes a little bit for the food, but that is because it’s being made to order. Really, really good. Hardworking staff, too!

The food was excellent, with loads of flavor and generous portions. Nice selection of beverages and a wide variety of food from mains like meatloaf and smothered chicken to scrambled and soups. Warm, comfortable. Service was good and helpful. Please support them so they stay in business. We wait about 35 minutes but we were informed ahead of time and it's a nice place to sit. They had mimosas as well for brunch. Highly recommend.

Get the peach cobbler!! I mean, everything was excellent, but I'm a desert hound. We had the catfish plate and shrimp 'n grits. Everything was fresh, hot, and tasted like a home kitchen. You know what I mean. Like, "Hey friends, you hungry? Lemme fix you a plate." Can't wait to go for brunch and try that cornbread.

Perfect and cozy spot to go to after a doctor visit (especially being pregnant) lol. The place has great vibes. Great art work to enjoy! The staff was warm and friendly. Our order was spot on and pretty hot when it came out. Definitely not like IHOP or such. Made with a lot of love because it was so delicious!
