Crema's Take
“Tucked into Chicago's quirky landscape, this horror-themed café serves expertly crafted espresso drinks with playful creativity—think cranberry-tonic "Krampus" concoctions and banana-forward "Skull Island" lattes alongside perfectly toasted bagels and buttery croissants. The nostalgic 80s pop culture and genuinely fun monster decor transforms your coffee break into an experience, making it the kind of place where you linger over smooth macadamia lattes and actually want to try their signature experimental drinks. Whether you're chasing exceptional espresso or just a great spot to settle in, this is where specialty coffee meets personality.”

I had a great experience at The Brewed. I ordered a macadamia milk latte, an almond croissant, and a bagel with peanut butter—everything was fresh and delicious. The latte was smooth and perfectly balanced, and the pastries tasted amazing. The vibe of the place is really nice and cozy, and the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!
I happened upon The Brewed one day after a visit to the store across the street, Horror House .. and The Brewed was a perfect next stop! The 80s pop culture/horror decor is so fun and intriguing. My favorite part, though, just might be the fact it's connected to an awesome vintage collectible & vinyl shop, Bric-Brac. You can enjoy your coffee as you browse records and then wander back to the coffee shop side to relax. 10/10 definitely recommend and will return!
A MUST IF… 💡You like good espresso. 💡You like a good latte. 💡You are open to unique espresso drinks(their cranberry syrup & tonic Krampus drink was fantastic). 💡You like/love horror themed movies. 💡You like/love 80-90s themed collectibles. 💡You like coffee shops with unique decor experience. So glad we went to check it out! My suggestion, thoughtfully select your coffee beverage of choice (or tea), and spend time looking at all the fun horror decor. There is all a Photo Booth! We give 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 to their well crafted cranberry Krampus drink and their caramel soy milk latte. Zero burnt coffee flavor to be found! Hot Tips: 🔥 Visit the Bric-a-Brac Records & Collectibles (they share an entrance!) 🔥Find a copy of a Children’s Guide to Chicago (Amazon). 🔥 When not freezing out walk around Logan Square hood and look for a Borienquen (Puerto Rican restauran). Please know this is a gentrified hood that once had a more robust Latino population. 🔥 Grab food at Jibaritos y Mas. 9min walk 🔥 Grab pizza at Paulie Gee’s 20mins for a Detroit Style pizza. 🔥Visit Unity Park when not freezing. Enjoy!
Very cool place, a horror themed cafe featuring Godzilla, scary killer alien snakes, nostalgic cereal in large bowls, to die for coffee, and some seating. We came here on a Sunday morning around 10am, there were a few people in line ahead of us an all the main seating was taken but there were still spots to sit in the back. We got the bowl of lucky charms for our kid, he loved them. We all got him a Marz Pink Lemonade. I got a cold brew and a bagel with vegan cream cheese (although I didn’t get the vegan cream cheese and also said nothing so not on them 100%). Overall a pretty interesting place.
The Skull Island drink had an interesting taste since I don't usually go for drinks with banana syrup, but it was fun to try. Their bagels were very good and perfectly toasted, and the vegan cream cheese wasn't bad either. The staff was super nice and welcoming, and the decorations really make the place stand out. There's also a good amount of seating, and you can even pop into the record store next door through the connecting door, which is a cool touch.
