Manny’s Dream Restaurant

Crema's Take
“Manny's Dream Restaurant is a beloved New Haven breakfast destination where generous portions and reasonable prices come with genuine hospitality that keeps families and longtime visitors coming back for decades. The mom-and-pop atmosphere feels timeless and welcoming, with staff like Katie and Dawn who make regulars feel like family, creating the kind of place where you'll want to linger over traditional coffee and a full breakfast spread. It's the rare spot where quality food, fair pricing, and authentic warmth combine to build the kind of loyalty that has people driving 30 minutes just to return.”

This place is my FAVORITE breakfast place in New Haven! Me and my Fiancé are very impressed with how Wonderful and Welcoming our waitress Katie is to us every single time we eat there! She’s always smiling, happy to be working and even keeps good conversation!! We look forward to seeing her weekly! The kitchen staff also always makes amazing food and overall I’m very impressed with how wonderful everything is every single time we come in !
So we absolutely loved Manny’s in the past. Treated super well and great food. We haven’t been there in awhile and drove 30 minutes to visit today. We were treated so poorly as soon as we walked in. The waitress clearly did not want to be there. She pointed to where she wanted us to sit. Then she went to sit down with a guest and chatted. At this point we didn’t have menus yet. A manager/waitress (not sure) asked if she wanted one more table and she said “ugh I guess”. Then proceeded to set down the menus and silverware with an attitude. She clearly did NOT want another table so we said we changed our minds. We ended up leaving right after that because it ruined the whole mood. Super excited to come back to New Haven and visit our fav restaurant but wont be going to Manny’s again. Honestly very disappointed bc this was a date for my husband and I.
Favorite spot when I come back to visit New Haven. Great food, great prices, and I love the mom and pop feel. Lots of memories from high school eating at Rich’s Cafe and the feeling is the same now eating at Manny’s with the guys.
It's interesting, you know. I had kin that moved from Woodburn to Fort Wayne within the past year that were looking for a good place to eat. They are older and not tech savvy, so the only way they find out about great places to eat is still by word of mouth from one to the next. It was over a phone call to their old landline from my cellular that we discussed getting together for a meal the next time I ventured to Indiana. It was during our conversation which I learned that while they had lived only about twenty minutes away from New Haven, they really hadn't done much there and were still trying to "find" those great places to eat. Enter Google Maps on my phone as I check reviews and restaurant websites as I chat with my kin and inquire as to where they have and have not been. I ended up marking Manny's dream kitchen as a "want to go" and totally forgot about it until I recently traveled to Indiana to visit family. My friend and I were famished when we arrived in New Haven. We had been on the road driving for three and a half hours by the time we arrived. My relatives were playing in a card tournament, which left us hungry with time to kill. I pulled over and parked on the side of the street downtown. Getting onto the maps app and looking for a place to eat, and there it was, that "want to go" notation I had forgotten about. The funny thing was, we were parked just a couple of doors down from this place. After some back and forth discussion, we decided to try it. I'm glad we did. Our food was delicious. Breakfast is available all day and I had a Country fried steak skillet that was served on a dinner plate. My friend had the country fried steak dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They have daily specials and for an interesting twist the menu has some Latin American/Spanish options to add a little spice to your meal. I'll definitely be back the next time in in Indiana. I felt the portions were decent and the prices were fair. Add in the delicious food and you have a place worth eating at often. Too bad I don't live closer.... I included a picture of my meal, mind you, I've already taken a couple of bites.
My husband and I just went here for the first time and we will be back for sure! Reasonable prices and generous portions. We met the owner a few months back and he is super nice guy. Dawn was our server and she had good suggestions. The place is bigger on the inside than I expected!! I had the waffle with two eggs and sausage links and my better half had the chilaquiles and added steak.
