Crema's Take

This Richmond gem feels like an actual garden escape with its bright, inviting space and covered outdoor patio, making it equally perfect for a quick caffeine fix or lingering over breakfast with friends. Beyond reliably excellent hot chocolate and espresso drinks, El Jardín stands out for its surprisingly craveable food—think chipotle sandwiches, chorizo breakfast burritos, and those bagels everyone raves about—all served by genuinely fast and friendly staff who keep up even when the place is packed. It's the rare neighborhood spot that actually delivers on the cozy, family-friendly vibe it promises, with plenty of parking and real attention to making guests feel welcomed.

Today we visited El Jardín de los Sueños Cafe ( Garden of Dreams Cafe) It was crowded but the service was spot on. The ladies serving worked fast and the hot chocolate we order was yummy. The neat thing about this Cafe is that they have a children's play space . They have children's books a doll house and toys. Food wise they have regular Cafe drinks but their hot chocolate has delicious cinnamon. They have omelettes, Bagels ,Sandwiches . protein smoothies and fresh juices. They also carry a variety of candy from Mexico and el salvador. There is also an outdoor seating area. Today being Saturday it was crowded but there was plenty of standing space. I loved the livelyness of the Cafe and overall it was a very interesting place to visit. I think this is a great place for families or for friends to meet.

They have Noah’s BAGELS!!🥯🥯🥯 I just come for the bagels lol I got a chorizo breakfast burrito and the flour tortilla was delicious but there was almost no egg at all. All meat. I think restaurants are forgetting meat is still pricier than eggs lol. This is common elsewhere too. But if I get a $10-15 breakfast burrito I want 2 eggs🥚🥚in it😊

The turkey omelette was amazing, including salad and a split & roasted sourdough roll. So much cheesy and vegetable goodness! Plenty of parking and an outdoor patio covered in deep, cushy artificial grass, plus a few trees, made for a pleasant vibe even while located a block below I-80. When I approached the counter to order, the gal was meticulously explaining the menu to a Muslim lady that apparently could not read English. I was hungry, so I had to break in just to ask whether there was any table service to be had. Without any grief, she volunteered to swiftly take my simple order, even asking if that was all, before returning to explain the menu. Who needs waiters, with fantastic service like this? The only downside was receiving my hot meal served on a plastic plate. Extra perk is Tapatio hot sauce in self-service packets (as well as bottles), just like the ketchup. I can't wait to come back to this garden of dreams!

I was so excited to try El Jardin and it did not disappoint! The space is inviting with lots of light, plenty of tables and even an area for kids. I ordered the Begonia Bagel (bacon, egg & cheese) and it was so good! Melty cheese, crispy bacon and a fresh egg on a bagel that tasted like it was made this morning. The latte is also delicious and came with an adorable heart on top. So excited to have El Jardin in the neighborhood.
