Crema's Take

Mishka's Café has earned its reputation as a Davis institution by nailing the fundamentals—their espresso pulls with clarity and balance, creative drinks like horchata lattes that let quality coffee shine through, and pastries (especially that lemon poppyseed muffin) that keep people coming back. The space has that rare cozy energy where you can settle in for an afternoon of work or study without feeling rushed, and the staff keeps pace even when the place fills up during peak hours. If you're after a specialty coffee experience that actually prioritizes hospitality and comfort alongside craft, this is the kind of neighborhood spot worth seeking out.

I love their lemon poppyseed muffin. The hot latte is always excellent. I really enjoy spending my afternoons studying here.

Mishka’s Café is hands down one of my all-time favorite coffee shops — not just in Davis, but anywhere. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm, cozy energy that makes this place so special. It’s the perfect blend of artsy, relaxed, and timeless — a true Davis landmark. The coffee is exceptional — rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection every single time. You can tell they take real pride in what they serve. Their espresso drinks are amazing, the pastries are always fresh, and everything pairs perfectly with the calm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether I’m meeting a friend, studying, or just taking a quiet moment for myself, Mishka’s always delivers the perfect experience. The staff is friendly, the music is mellow, and the entire vibe makes you want to stay for hours. It’s more than just a café — it’s a community spot with heart and soul. If you’re in Davis, do not skip Mishka’s. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with coffee in the first place.

The coffee here is rich and well rounded for those who enjoy real coffee. The horchatta late was a subtle sweet that let the coffee shine. The pastries are wonderful. My coffee cake was buttery and soft, easily the best I've ever had. The owner is a kind no nonsense gentleman who keeps a quaint, wonderful shop.

Amazing study spot or just for a quick bite and coffee. Even at their busiest hour their service is still very timely. If you’re looking for a study spot, this place is a great and cozy atmosphere but can get very crowded later in the day. They also have reusable mugs for non to-go orders and you can even bring your own mug! My go to spot to do work in downtown!

Good and creative variety of coffee drinks. I liked the multigrain croissant and also the ham and cheese. During the week it is hectic and depending on the time, parking can be difficult. It gets easier on weekends. I will come back to try more pastries.
