Crema's Take

Tucked away in Lyndhurst, this upscale kosher bakery strikes an impressive balance between quick coffee runs and lingering afternoon conversations, with a rotating selection of inventive pastries like honey kouign amanns and dulce de leche croissants that justify the devoted return visits. The warm, family-friendly space draws everyone from coffee-and-dash regulars to couples planning dates around their next visit, all coming back for baked goods that taste as sophisticated as they look.

I had an absolutely awful experience at this Patis Bakery location and it completely ruined the brand for me. I used to be a loyal customer at other locations, but after what I saw here, I won’t be stepping into any Patis Bakery again. On a busy Sunday afternoon, there was only one employee working. One person was trying to handle 20+ customers, take orders, prepare the food, and clean at the same time. It was chaotic and completely unfair to that worker. Instead of helping, the owner eventually came out and I literally saw him yelling at the employee in front of customers. That alone told me everything about how this place is run. The condition of the store was also unacceptable. The bathroom was filthy, the counters were dirty, and the whole place felt neglected. On top of that, many of the chairs were broken or wobbly—I counted around 10 chairs that were unstable. The furniture looked like it came from a junk pile. For a place charging premium prices like it’s some upscale Manhattan-style bakery, the environment was closer to a dump. To make matters worse, they don’t even accept credit cards. In 2026, that’s ridiculous. Expecting customers to carry cash while charging high prices and providing this level of service is insulting. This location didn’t just disappoint me—it killed the franchise for me entirely. If this is how ownership treats employees, maintains the store, and values customers, I’m done. I won’t be returning to this location or any other Patis Bakery again.

I can’t even tell you how great this place is! Stumbled in accidentally one Sunday & now my bf & I keep planning when we are going back. So many fresh choices! The dulce le leche croissant was to die for, and the sunrise focaccia hit all the notes. Staff is extremely pleasant even when busy. My new go to pastry shop! I will be back to try one of everything

I went a while back to the NJ branch but can’t wait to visit the Brooklyn location! My favorite pastry was the Honey Kouign Amann; the dough just melted in my mouth so deliciously. In terms of food I tried out the Mushroom Quiché with Truffle Parmesan and would recommend it over the pizza for sure! The flavor was amazing. I also loved the decor of the place, it’s super nice and chill.

This bakery is so cooool! I’ve never been to such an upper class kosher bakery before and it was very exciting. Everything tasted incredible also! Definitely coming back here. We got the Arugula Pizza, Goat Cheese Baguette, Strawberry Croissant, Macarons, sour dough bread, and more. All of those I highly highly recommend.

An amazing place. It is a bakery for the Sophisticated palate. The baked goods are fresh and very creative. Ben here several times and haven't had anything that wasn't amazing. The staff is kind and friendly. And the owner is always around to answer questions. In addition, the samples are a great feature.
