Crema's Take
“Overeasy captures that irresistible 1960s diner magic with warm, nostalgic charm and genuinely generous plates that keep folks coming back for the chicken fried steak and towering cinnamon rolls. The coffee here is fresh and delicious, the service strikes that perfect balance between quick and attentive, and the whole vibe feels like a place where families and friends actually want to linger over breakfast, not just grab and go.”

Terrible Experience! We had a late breakfast at this place. When we arrived, no one was in the restaurant, and we were seated. The waiter (I believe his name was Henry) came over and started pouring water, then asked if we wanted coffee. I replied, but he did not acknowledge my order for about a minute — only saying “okay” once he had finished pouring. My partner’s coffee arrived cold, mine was fine, but it took 10 minutes to arrive. We ordered our food and waited around 25 minutes before asking the manager how much longer it would take. His response was: “I’ll check — poached eggs take ages.” His answer and attitude were both astounding. He went into the kitchen to assist the staff and, speaking loudly enough for us to hear, asked where the green garnish was. The kitchen staff replied there was none that day. He insisted there was some, grabbed it with his bare hands, and placed it on the food. We received our breakfast just over 5 minutes after we had asked about it. The poached eggs were cold — as was the rest of the food. We wasted both time and money at this place and would strongly not recommend it.
Imagine stepping back into 1962 — but without the racism. That’s exactly what this place feels like. It has that nostalgic diner charm with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Very quaint. Very cute. A true step back in time in the best way. We went during breakfast. I ordered the two-egg breakfast, and the portion sizes were huge. Honestly, it could have been split between two to three people depending on your appetite. Everything was cooked well and seasoned properly — no bland diner food here. My partner had the biscuits and gravy. The homemade biscuits were soft and delicious, paired with well-seasoned sausage patties and rich gravy. It truly tasted like somebody’s grandma made it. The restaurant is located inside the Salter Hotel, which adds to the overall charm and beauty of the experience. Our server, Natalie, was attentive without hovering — present, professional, and pleasant. Overall, I’d give the food an 8 out of 10 and the experience an 8 out of 10. Definitely a place I would come back to.
Nice breakfast! Plates are generous and the food quality is excellent! Service was great. We were a larger group and others raved about the chicken fried steak and biscuits. We shared the giant cinnamon roll which was amazing. Highly recommend!
Took my daughter here for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Staff was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere had a cool vibe. The food was pretty basic breakfast food and it was priced about the same as any other breakfast place you go too. We parked around the corner on the street in metered parking and it cost $1.50 which is good for downtown Dallas.
The service was quick and attentive, making for an enjoyable visit. The food quality was excellent, with many options on the menu. The coffee was fresh and delicious. The seating was comfortable, with plenty of space for groups or solo diners. It’s a convenient spot that’s definitely worth returning to. The Ranch Hand was phenomenal!
