Ada's Technical Books and Cafe
425 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA
Crema's Take
“Ada's is a rare gem that weaves together a thoughtfully curated technical bookstore with a café serving solid specialty coffee, creating an ideal refuge for the intellectually curious who want to linger over a cup while browsing everything from programming manuals to art books. The Capitol Hill location has genuinely cultivated a community atmosphere where laptop workers, readers, and friends naturally coexist in a genuinely cozy space, and the staff seems to understand that their role is as much about hosting ideas as serving drinks. If you're seeking a spot that treats coffee as part of a larger experience rather than a transaction, Ada's rewards you with free parking, late hours, and the kind of environment where settling in for hours feels not just welcome but encouraged.”

Only reason I will give four stars, and it hurts to do so, is because the store has no day bed, or some lazy boy seats. But it is a cozy bookstore, for those possessed by radical ideas. If your idea is to shout to a crowd "overthrow the government" or even your first act as a mayor will be to install an ice cream fountain in every park, this is the right space for radical kindness. It is a space for technically artistic research. But I may be wrong. I like the event spaces at the back, and wad here on a wedding night.
I ducked into this shop to hide from the rain today and it was super cool! It’s like a bookstore+cafe combined and the environment is really chill with most patrons on their laptops, reading, or meeting friends. I did not purchase any books, but their iced latte and wifi was great! Will note that it was a bit hard to find a good spot to sit at as all the tables in the atrium were full
One of the coziest bookstore/cafe combos I've experienced. Really love the curation of books, you'll definitely find something to read here. I especially loved their selection of pictures books! The shelf in the center featured books from Seattle writers and the walls have staff recommendations neatly displayed. There's also plenty of community events to attend, too! Looking forward to coming back to do some studying/work here.
Cute, small café—just like the name suggests, it mainly sells technical books. Seating is limited, with a few spots in the front and back. The coffee was good, but a small Americano cost about $6. Street parking is $4 per hour.
Ada's is one of my favorite spots in the city to have a delightful cup of coffee, connect & work! Parking is pretty easy, and I'm typically able to find free parking. I love this location in Capitol Hill! This place has books for purchase and to enjoy. The details and the sense of community here is awesome! I will return always!
