Crema's Take
“Break Away Cafe is a cyclist's dream built by a cyclist—it's part specialty coffee shop, part bike mechanic's workshop, with a genuinely knowledgeable staff that can fix your derailleur and pull you a perfect iced cappuccino in the same visit. The food hits harder than typical cafe fare, with crispy falafel, sabich sandwiches, and an impressive rotation of pastries spanning multiple cultures, making it worth stopping by even if you're not pedaling through Washington Heights. If you want a third place that actually cares about the community using it—not just coffee shop aesthetics—this is it.”
What to expect
