Crema's Take

Nestled in Oak Park's art district, this beloved pie shop bakes some of the most talked-about crusts around, with both sweet and savory options made from locally sourced Midwest ingredients that customers can't stop raving about. The atmosphere is genuinely warm and unhurried—a place where you're greeted like family, whether you're stopping by for a slice of chocolate chess pie, handmade ice cream, or a quiet afternoon with your mom. It's the kind of small business that makes you want to linger, support local, and come back again soon.

The pie crust is one of the best ive ever had come stop by and support a small business in oak parks art district. They have sweet and savory pies we had the coconut pie, the cocolate pie, and a apple pie they were all 5/5. Our favorite was the coconut pie so sliky and has just the right sweetness to it, then came the chocolate pie that was a brownie in a pie i would just ask that to add some fresh whipped cream it would had made it even better for me i will be back for that. The apple pie had the perfect spices in the filling we asked for the crumble slice it was out of this world 😊

We don't know what a chocolate chess pie is supposed to be, but the slice they sold us today was FANTASTIC and maybe the best brownie we've had in a long time 😘. Perfectly baked. Perfect crust. Wonderfully chocolatey and moist. The mini pumpkin and apple pies were really good too, but we'll be back for that chocolate chess pie for sure.

The Happy Apple Pie Shop offers down home fresh baked pies, quiches and handmade ice cream. Locally and midwest sourced fruits and veggies make spectacular fillings. Holidays, birthdays and any day is perfect for a sweet treat. Happy Apple Pie's charming and cozy store-front had limited cafe seating. You won't find a better warmed apple pie and vanilla ice cream within Oak Park or surrounding area. Must try the chicken pot pie and Chocolate Guinness pie they are to die for!

My Mom and I stopped in after seeing the Pie Today sign outside the shop. The lady who helped us was super helpful and gave us great customer service. We decided to try the $6.50 option so I had two of the small quiche like items with a flavored water and my Mom had a slice of strawberry rubbard pie and a decaf coffee (that was pressed and served in a ceramic mug). We enjoyed all of our items. My Mom said the lie was very tasty not too much sugar and the crust was flaky. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. It's a quaint neighborhood shop that offers not jobs to people with developmental disabilities.

This place is simply adorable. From the hospitality to the hiring commitment, and of course the pies. We were instantly greeted with a warm hello and offered the prices without feeling pressured into a purchase. Food: Of course we HAD to buy pie and I'm so glad we did. I tried the apple pie, and it was fresh and delicious even after surviving an hour plus commute. The crust was flaky with the right amount of butter flavor without feeling heavy or greasy. The apples tasted fresh and seasoned to perfection. Atmosphere: I wouldn't suggest dining in, but there did appear to be a table in the event you can't wait to try the pie. Overall: I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem and would certainly recommend it to anyone. *chef's kiss*
