Crema's Take
“Sunshine Cafe is a warm neighborhood spot in Petaluma's Leghorn Marketplace that excels at making guests feel genuinely welcome, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely breakfast. The kitchen delivers generous portions at reasonable prices—think perfectly cooked eggs and hearty chilaquiles—while the well-staffed team and inviting atmosphere make it equally suited for solo work sessions or lingering meetings with friends. As a newer outpost from the beloved Sebastopol location, it's quickly becoming a local favorite that consistently exceeds expectations.”

We came across Sunshine Cafe by chance and love it. Friendly and welcoming vibe with a wide variety menu options. We've had breakfast and lunch, both were delicious! Very reasonable prices as well. Eggs Benedict on point!
We had never been here before and needed a comfortable quick place to have lunch today. We didn’t have the highest expectations, but our expectations were exceeded very easily. My husband loves Monte Cristo sandwiches, but is often disappointed with them. This one did not disappoint at all, and it was served very quick quickly. I ordered the fit and fresh breakfast, which was scrambled egg whites with fresh spinach and cherry tomatoes, and was served with a side of fresh fruit, and a very nicely, grilled chicken, sausage, and a piece of toast. Because I like salsa with my eggs, I asked if they had any and they brought some out which was quite delicious. Again, very tasty but not too spicy hot It was nice to have a healthy brunch that tasted good. The service was terrific. We would definitely go back
I was too hungry and food wasn’t that bad I eat it all… Portions are really small Garlic fries $6 plus taxes Chilaquiles $22 plus taxes You add a steak $9 plus taxes Honestly… I asked my eggs over easy and… Disappointedly speaking my eggs where well done I asked for my steak medium rare and it was well done Again for prices portions are too small I won’t return Maybe I’m not a costumer for this place because yes it was a lot ppl here But no I didn’t like the service waiters and food runner don’t know the meaning of good smile I’m sorry if this review is not good enough but is true from my point of view
A cute new spot in town. Petaluma Sunshine Cafe is a welcome new spot on this side of town. It was busy but not full at 9:30 on a Saturday. However when we left, they were full(which was awesome to see at a new spot). The had a little of everything. The service was fast and prompt. The food came out quick for being busy. Normally breakfast food can be a little greasy but this was not. I had the corn beef machaca and it was great. The coffee was fresh and hot. Look forward to trying it for lunch or dinner sometime.
An extension of Sebastopol Sunshine Cafe of Sebastopol, they opened on Feb 18, 2025 a Petaluma location in the Leghorn Marketplace, behind Starbucks. Well staffed and friendly. Portions are generous, pricing is typical of cafes. Mainly breakfast offerings with lunch and dinner items as well. Good was served in a timely manner. We enjoyed the corned beef hash platter which offered tasty corned beef in longish strips instead of ground or short chopped cooked as an egg scramble, topped with avocado with hash browns and your choice of bread toast. The Petaluma Sunshine Special was a generous serving of two eggs cooked to preference served with 2 slices of crispy bacon, 2 little cute fat sausages, side of hash browns and your choice of bread toast, including French toast - I went for the French toast, no extra cost. Save your money on the barista beverages. Although they have a nice espresso machine, it was plenty obvious that the staff lacked the adequate training to produce a decent cup of espresso drinks. I originally ordered a cappuccino, it came over heated with absolutely no foam ( foam is the signature of a cappuccino). Then I tried the marzipan latte. The initial presentation was elegant, with a rim of crushed almond and a hint of foam on top, this time at a good temperature. Although the flavors were there, the texture and overall achievement was lacking, again to the inability to produce adequate foam. Skip any espresso drinks and visit Starbucks next door. I would visit again for a good breakfast meal. Next time I'll try visiting for lunch or dinner.
