Spruce Cafe

Crema's Take

Spruce Cafe has carved out a loyal following in Longmont as a genuinely social study spot where the atmosphere and welcoming vibe seem to matter as much as the coffee itself—folks return for the easy-to-talk-to energy and quiet-enough-to-focus environment. Their pastry program, particularly the seasonal pumpkin danish, draws real enthusiasm, and they've thought through dietary needs with solid vegan and vegetarian options, though some regulars have noticed the espresso quality has dipped recently. If you're looking for a reliable drip coffee companion and a place where you'll actually want to linger with friends or your laptop, this is the kind of neighborhood spot that works better for the full cafe experience than for espresso purists.

Always a great study spot, easy to talk to others but quiet enough to not be distracted. Fantastic service with a wide selection of food and drinks. Vegan and vegetarian options and refills on at least tea. Ample seating outdoors as well.

baked goods great. But espresso has become very acidic and very bitter. Not enjoyable in my opinion. Not the quality it used to be. Drip coffee probably good. Atmosphere and people are great. I know they were having problems with their machine the past month or two. Still needs fixing. I’m sad I need to find another place to enjoy espresso. 😞. Had been going here regularly for years.

I gave this place a few tries and enough is enough. Overpriced place with really rude staff and not only once (especially the “main” barista). Their baking goods are less superior than WholeFoods… expensive, dry goods, tasteless, nothing special about their coffee… threw it away after the first sip. The place feels too crowded and tables too close to each other.

Im guessing the pumpkin danish is temp for the season. I am truly obsessed with this pumpkin danish. The flavor and the nuts are perfect! The drinks are delicious and the ambiance is warming. They have local artist wall art on the walls and that I really like! I will be returning for another pumpkin danish 😋😋😋😋

I needed a last minute dessert for a dinner party and stumbled upon this bakery by chance. The service was great! They helped me pull together pieces of chocolate, carrot, and almond raspberry cake and let me tell you they all were the rave of the evening. They really have the icing down—like a French pastry chef—and each cake was moist, tasty, and not too sugary-sweet so the flavors really surfaced. We will be back and I recommend you give this little bakery a try😊
