Tartine

Crema's Take
“Tartine's LA outpost trades the original's legendary bread-making mystique for a more casual, patio-focused vibe where their famously excellent pastries and country loaves shine without the fuss. The drip coffee lands solidly in the middle ground, but people keep coming back for the croissants, egg sandwiches, and that addictive sliced country bread paired with a vanilla iced latte while you settle into their small outdoor seating area. It's a quick neighborhood grab that works equally well as a lingering breakfast spot, though fair warning—you're paying LA prices for the full Tartine experience.”

You know, I have tried this place a few times and I have come to the conclusion that it is just overpriced facade. Their coffee is just “mid” and every time there’s just something annoying. This time it was quiche (which was sitting out for over 4 hours) they refused to reheat it, and a side of bacon that was floppy and also old/gross and premade. Let’s hope I don’t get sick from any of it. The dry pastries are good enough, but for the prices, it’s not actually worth it - any number of 4th wave coffee shops in the area that I frequent carry comparable pastries for less cost. This is clearly a place that is all image and doesn’t quite deliver on the price point, or really care much in preparation. It’s LA, there’s plenty of competition and your game should be better. Be better Tartine!
Had to come here to try the bread ! We ordered an almond croissant , a drip coffee and took home a load of country bread. Also had to try the egg sando . Drip coffee was decent ! The egg sando came with scrumptious bread and a yummy pickled carrot . It was really delicious , loved the pesto sauce ( just wish it was a little bigger ) almond croissant was decent ( I still love the one from the lodge better ) and I took home the loaf of bread to try later . Two long tables outside to eat family style !
Stopped by Tartine for their sliced country bread and vanilla iced latte. The shop is cute and all of their pastries looked delicious! Only outdoor seating.
The food and quality of products are consistent across all of Tartine’s locations. This is one of the newer locations, and it is pretty small. There is some outdoor seating area, which has a little bit of shade. comparatively speaking, the Santa Monica location has much better ambience, and I prefer to just do takeout from this one.
Delish start to our morning at Tarine. We sat on the patio, ordered lattes, a croissant and some sandwiches. Everything was great. The mushroom Reuben was super tasty and I loved the pickled carrot on the side. Would be thrilled to return.
