Schlee’s Gourmet Bakery & Bottle Shop

I have a child who takes classes at the Hoogland Center, so I'm downtown somewhat frequently. This is my favorite place to hang out or relax downtown. It's a quiet little coffee shop with lovely baked goods made from scratch, in-house. Would I prefer it cost less for cookies or a scones? Yes, but I'll absolutely pay for it here over a chain store's frozen-then-thawed treats.

One of my favorite cafés. I study here from morning until late evening, and I truly love the environment, the service, and the coffee. I really wish I could meet the owner and say thank you from the bottom of my heart. When I first moved to Springfield, I was looking for a place where I could study for my bar exam from morning until late at night, but there was nothing—no café, no library. I can’t explain how grateful and relieved I feel knowing there is now a place where I can study all day in peace. Thank you to whoever created this space—you are truly an angel. And thank you to everyone who works here. You are incredibly kind, patient, and professional, and your communication and service are exceptional.

Stopped by for breakfast over the weekend. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. The chai latte I had was great. We ordered multiple baked goods which were all delicious. (Ham and cheese scone pictured here). We will be coming again!

We stopped here after dinner at Maldaner’s. It was a wonderful way to continue our evening after dinner, and the wine selection was exactly what we were looking for. Great ambiance and friendly staff. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Such a great addition to Springfield! The shop has a really cozy vibe that makes it the perfect spot to hang out or get some work done. The pastries are amazing (definitely recommend trying a few), and the coffee is just as good. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Easily one of my new favorite spots in town.
