Crema's Take
“This dessert-focused spot in San Francisco has built a devoted following around oversized, Instagram-worthy creations like their legendary bingsoo and honey toast that are practically meant for sharing. The playful presentation—think hot tea served in fun dispensers—and welcoming, spacious atmosphere make it equally appealing for a quick solo coffee run or lingering with friends, though adventurous eaters might want to ask about vegan options before committing. Reviews consistently praise the creative spirit here, though you'll want to come hungry since portions lean generous rather than delicate.”

I loooooooove the bingsoo it’s amazing! 10/10. Only lost one star because I wish they had more vegan options but the options they have are fire. Good vibes too I love it here.
This was my first visit, and I honestly had higher expectations. The cheesecake was priced at nearly $16, but the portion size was noticeably smaller than expected. While I understand that desserts can be on the pricier side, the size-to-price ratio felt underwhelming. Unfortunately, the taste did not make up for it. The texture and flavor were fairly ordinary, and the cheesecake lacked the rich, creamy profile I was hoping for. For this price point, I expected something more refined or memorable, but the overall experience felt rather average. The presentation and environment were nice, and the dessert itself looked visually appealing. However, taste and value ultimately matter most. Based on this experience, both the quality and pricing fell short of expectations. I don’t see myself returning specifically for this item…😩
Had this on new years eve and it really hit the spot. The hot tea came in fun dispenser and my whole group was very amused by it. The honey toast was big enough that we had to split it three ways, but so worth it, it was delicious. We also got a variety of fried appetizers, it was perfect.
Our experience at U:Dessert Story, a dessert-only establishment, started on a positive note. The service was welcoming and polite, and the space itself is spacious and well-maintained, including a clean and accessible restroom. However, where we found room for improvement is the menu structure. The dessert offerings vary dramatically in portion size. Some items are large enough to be shared by a small group, while others are modest, single-person servings. The confusing part is that the portion size seems entirely disconnected from the price. A small, delicate dessert might carry a similar price tag to a much larger, shareable one, which makes it difficult to gauge value when ordering. Overall, the welcoming service and pleasant environment are definite strengths. However, the inconsistency in the menu's pricing relative to portion size is a significant drawback that could lead to customer confusion or disappointment. As ordinary consumers, we are not paid or compensated in any way for this review. We offer this feedback in the hope that it can help both the business and future patrons.
We ordered the Thai Tea Lava Toast and it was really good but the portion size was huge. Very difficult for two people to finish! I would have preferred more fruit. OH Dessert caramelizes their bananas which I sorely missed. The bread was perfectly toasted and presentation was beautiful. I was going to give a three star for atmosphere because not only was the music freaky but it was unreasonably loud... but I think one of the workers heard me say that they should play a certain song by The Weeknd and actually skipped the current one to play it 😭 Thank you U:Dessert Story workers!
