Mochinut
154 Harvard Ave, Allston, MA
Crema's Take
“This Allston spot is a vibrant hub where you can grab pillowy mochi doughnuts alongside Korean corn dogs and boba from the in-house Gong Cha, all with genuinely warm service and a streamlined ordering system that keeps lines moving fast. The mochi doughnuts are the real draw—crispy-chewy and inventive—though prices run a bit higher than some competitors, which reflects the variety and freshness they're known for. It's the kind of place that stays open after snowstorms and draws crowds precisely because they've nailed the formula of quality pastries, playful food combos, and a family-friendly vibe that feels both casual and genuinely cared-for.”

Mochinut is a chain of Mochi Doughnut stores throughout the Massachusetts area. This location also sells Korean corndogs, and shares a retail space with a Gong Cha as well. Service is quite fast. Most of the mochi donuts are already prepared so it is quick for them to assemble boxes for takeout. As for flavors, they have a few staple flavors (chocolate) but also a variety of flavors such as matcha, ube, and honeydew. I didn't like the honeydew one at all, but most of the flavors are pretty tasty. The prices are similar to other mochi donuts places around the area. Overall, a great spot to go to if wanting to try mochi donuts or getting a quick dessert in the area.
so delicious and 10/10 service, the absolute kindest gentlemen! even open the day after the snow storm. fresh mochinuts are so delicious!
Cute place. Easy to order, decent donuts and korean hot dogs.
Pricier than the sweet shop in Norwood where I usually get mochinuts ($3.50 each here, and it’s $2.50 each there), but they have a wider variety here. You place your order through a machine and someone brings it out. It is inside the same building as the Gong cha place, but it is a separate ordering and service system. Street parking is limited. The place is accessible but I don’t think there are bathrooms. Plenty of tables and booths to sit inside and wide lanes to roll if you use wheels.
This place is really cool. The line was out the door, but they serve stuff pretty fast. The corndog was a half and half (so mozzarella on top and meat on the bottom half) covered in potato chunks. it was a bit intense for me, and I probably should have dipped it into some saues, but it was really good. The donuts are amazing, and remind me a bit of the french cruller from dunkin donuts in texture, just without the giant air pockets. It has much more of a bite to it with the mochi flower adding in a chewy-but-not-denese factor to it. I got the Uba and the strawberry, but apparently one of the most populer is churro and I will have to go back for it. They are more expensive then a more common donut, but its very worth it. Also some of them come with pocky on it, and its cute. I recommend trying the uba, or something you cant get at a normal donut place. They also do bubble tea, but where out of most flavors when I was there due to how popular its been. Expect a wait, but its well worth it!
