Crema's Take
“Tucked into Gatlinburg, this intimate hole-in-the-wall is helmed by owner Lynn herself, who greets you warmly and cooks with genuine care, making every visit feel like a homecoming rather than a transaction. Their full breakfast menu shines with standout dishes like the Hillbilly Grit Bowl and pancakes that justify the loyal crowds, while the cozy space—complete with dog-friendly outdoor seating and surprisingly delightful bathrooms—strikes that perfect balance between a quick caffeine stop and a lingering meal with friends.”

This little hole in the wall absolutely earns every 5 star review. First of all, when you walk into a restaurant and the owner is the one who greets you and cooks your food, you know it’s about to be GOOD. That’s exactly how Lil Black Bear is- phenomenal food made by great people at the perfect price point. Service is beyond friendly and quick, and the menu prices cap at $12. Everything is clean. Husband said the sausage gravy was some of the best he’s ever had. As for the pancakes, while they’ll be the yummiest, fluffiest, pancakes you’ll ever have… warning if you’re a scrawny human like me that they really mean panCAKES!! Wish we had time to try more. Definitely worth taking your lunchtime business here over big downtown restaurants- you can just tell this spot is a labor of love for the food, community, and Jesus. Keep it up!
This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is out of this world. Great food, Great people, and Gods anointing on this place. The people running it are extremely hospitable and courteous. We really enjoyed our breakfast experience. We had regular pancakes, reeses pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. My son said 20 stars!
This place is small but mighty! 2 tables outside. They are dog friendly. Great food! Try those pancakes! They have the best bathroom I've ever been to while traveling. It wasn't about the look of the bathroom it was the details. I had never been in one that offered baby wipes, air freshener, lysol, feminine products (not a machine but on the back of the toilet) and Jesus at the mirror. Check out the pictures.
This place was very good. I would definitely stop by if you have the time. It is small, so large parties may not be able to be accommodated, however it is worth it. Our food was hot and fresh. My wife remarked that she's she hardly ever gets food so fresh that she has to wait to eat it. Extremely good. I would recommend to the Reuben. Note: they serve Pepsi products
When in TN you MUST EAT at Little Black Bear Cafe! The Hillbilly Grit Bowl was amazing. The owner Lynn is was so sweet and made us feel like family. The food was so yummy I had to go back for lunch before he closed! I was warned that he DOES NOT do food Togo… so I showed up with containers so I could enjoy a waterfall with my fiancé. He smiled and accommodates us ♥️. Thank you Little Black Bear Cafe for some fantastic food and being a part of my TN memories.
