Crema's Take

Mama Bella feels like stepping into an authentic Eastern European deli where the owner Sergei and his crew treat you like family, with the owner known for genuine warmth and attentiveness to regulars. Beyond the excellent from-scratch breakfast and reliable coffee, what keeps people coming back is the hidden gem atmosphere—old school vibes, an actual wood-fired pizza oven, imported specialty groceries, and house-made soups that locals swear by for both comfort and convenience.

This place is close to my job and I would go everyday for the soups, because of the convenience and the nice lady with the short blonde hair is always kind. The owner has for the most part always been a bit rude, but I always chuck it up to a language thing, his English, is not great, this is a Russian establishment and he is usually not tending to customers. Today he was the only one there. It is always kind of rough when it is just him, but i wanted to get a soup for my kiddo, so I pushed forth. I just wanted a Chicken soup today, something that is already cooked and ready to go, he looked me up and down and then barked at me that I was going to have to wait. The place was basically empty. I know that people buying the premade food are always tended to fast and sent on their way. Again, I go there two-three times a week. He is usually never around. He barked at me for no reason that there was going to be an undetermined wait. I was like Okay, and just patiently stood there, watching him mess around in the kitchen. He purposely lingered to not serve me. I just watched, wondering if this was for real. Hoping someone else besides him would jump in. I'm not even sure what I did. I had my hair extra curly today, and a bit nappy, and I do have darker tan latin skin, and was wearing glasses because..Tuesday.... I was in my business suit, but definitely looked extra ethnic. I am not someone to ever say something like this, but it couldn't have been anything else. When he finally felt like asking me again what soup, when he deemed me deserving of it, he was rude and nasty and annoyed that I was there. He didn't want to serve me. For me its like why would I want an angry man that clearly hates people of my type, why would I want his bad vibe soup. It was so weird. I softly and very nicely spared him the pain of serving me. I softly said, that it was okay, that he didn't have to, I could just go...I said it with no attitude, just someone kind of shocked of what was happening, and mostly sad about it. You know what he said, he said, "Good!" He said, "Good!". What is wrong with people. I was literally just happily going to get soup or ribs at the place I always go to. Like I'm shocked. If he does not want the business from people of color, or of latin decent maybe he should put up a sign. But since obviously that's not going to happen, I had to document it in a review. As I was leaving and almost at the door, I stopped, I turned back around and approached him again, and told him, "sir, I come here every day...why would you treat me this way?" And you know what he did? He just kept looking down at the till. He just looked down at his register and wouldn't make eye contact. So disgraceful. I never write reviews, but this was pretty dark. I have spent so much money here, because it is at a convenient distance. What a weird experience. I had no idea this was that type of business, the other lady with the short blonde hair knows me and is always sweet and kind. I cant support a business where the owner is that type of person. So gross.

I don’t usually write reviews and will be happy to change this to a 5 star once this is addressed. First of all this is a hidden gem in west Palm. They have great food, a bunch of cool imported groceries and beers, and the staff is awesome. Honestly, it is one of my favorite spots. It’s never busy and deserves to have more customers. I have interacted with several staff and there is one lady who is the most energetic, kind, and helpful person ever. The owner is amazing when he is in and overall, it’s a great group. There is one employee however, who could care less about customers and it’s unfortunate. I believe his name is Sergei but I have had rude service anytime he is in. Tonight I went in to get dinner 15 minutes before they closed and the lady working was so happy to see me and started making my order. He interrupted her and told her that we were closing in 5 minutes. I’ve never seen an employee willing to help a customer and is told to stop what they are doing. Just close at 7:45 if you don’t want customers in then. For someone who lives next door and eats 1-2 times a week, I was extremely disappointed for such a great spot. Once this is addressed, I will happily make this a 5 star review.

Old school deli vibes run by Sergei and crew. A lot of Eastern European food, snacks, beverages, and more. Check out the pics for an idea of what they have to offer. They have an authentic pizza oven and dedicated chef. Espresso machine, yes. Sergei will hook you up with a Polish beer with a buffalo on the label. Criminally underrated.

Eggs Benedict was good- they make everything from scratch- food was all good and their coffee was excellent! I didn’t see they had any fancy coffee options so it was your basic coffee and they have cream and sugar - lady working was super nice - house fries were cooked perfectly - their is also a bar area you can sit but we were there early so wasn’t open- they also service sandwiches and a wide variety of things - it’s like a little market so you can also do some grocery shopping if you need too!

We visited Mama Bella's Gourmet Kitchen and discovered they offer an extensive breakfast menu with reasonable prices, especially considering the upscale nature of the town. The food was scrumptious, and the coffee was outstanding. It was one of the most satisfying breakfasts I've had in a while.
