ASUCD Coffee House Coho

Crema's Take

Coho is a beloved campus gathering spot that delivers solid, affordable coffee alongside seasonal specialty drinks that genuinely impress. It's the kind of place where you're as likely to settle in for a study session with friends as you are to grab something quick between classes, though the unpredictable crowds during peak hours mean timing is everything. The minimalist, student-run atmosphere might feel a bit utilitarian to some, but regulars cherish it precisely because it feels like the genuine heart of Davis student life rather than a polished brand experience.

Great coffee. However one employee was telling a trainee how to make my drink and said right in front of me that she didn’t put enough milk it in “but it’s fine.” Well it’s not fine for me so I asked for the correct amount of mill and he acted like I was asking for a special favor and when the manager asked what was going on he said I asked for “extra” milk even though I was just asking for the correct amount as per his own admission to the trainee

If UC Davis built a coffee shop to represent itself, it would look a lot like this — sleek on the outside, soulless on the inside. The walls would be minimalist, the playlists corporate, and the coffee would cost too much for how little it delivers. Every latte would taste like the campus itself: overhyped, overbranded, and underwhelming. In this hypothetical café, “community” would be a buzzword on the chalkboard, not a feeling in the air. Students would sit isolated at shiny tables, surrounded by slogans about sustainability and innovation — two words UC Davis loves to say but rarely lives. The espresso machines would hum like PR copy: smooth, mechanical, and utterly detached. Because, hypothetically, that’s UC Davis in a cup — perfectly brewed image, zero real flavor. Not feeling that? UCD focus on image and this place is let you believe you are good when actually not

It's my favorite place to get coffee on campus. It's not only the cheapest but it has a great atmosphere. Being in here means I run into people often, and the coffee is solid. There's a lot of new hires pretty much all the time, but I've found that helping them out with my usual order is no big hassle. I recommend the Vanilla Latte and the Campfire Latte when it cycles back around as drink of the month. That being said, they WILL get your name wrong.

Depends on the day and your mood...this is a busy coffee house. So if you know that much and know you might run into a line during passing period- all else will be good!. Students working this coho are usually pretty awesome, chill n friendly. Wish they had whole milk! Haha. Otherwise great spot for a pick me up! Tons of seating inside and outside.
