Crema's Take

Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors nails the art of smooth, well-balanced espresso that locals rave about—particularly their decaf and their famously rich "milkshake-like" shots that shine in cortados and lattes. The vibe is relaxed yet refined, with a cozy, romantic atmosphere perfect for lingering over a pour over or catching up with friends, and the baristas (like Craig) genuinely care about getting your drink just right. It's the kind of neighborhood gem where you'll find wine alongside your coffee and staff who make you feel like a regular from your first visit.

This is my go-to coffee spot in Austin. I only drink decaf coffee and this place does it just right. Most shops serve bitter and sour espresso (yes including Starbucks) but Figure 8 espresso is smooth and creamy with bold flavor. Big shoutout to Ryan (the manager) and her team for always serving up the craft!!

@ciaracera (insta) does a series where she visits places around ATX. In her 2025 wrap up, Fig8 was #3 must visits for its “milkshake” like espresso. Typically I go for mochas, drips, or even just a latte, but came here for the espresso and glad I did. It’s one of the few coups of espresso I sipped, enjoyed, and already look forward to recreating in the future. Dope spot; the kouign aman is also excellent.

Friendly, stylish coffee house also serving wine and sometimes baked goods. They have several tables and bar seating. The staff are welcoming and helpful. It's a great place to stop for coffee after breakfast at the Omlettery a few doors down. The coffee's house shares a large free parking lot with adjacent businesses.
