It's the perfect place for book lovers and game enthusiasts. There's private game rooms and porch game tables. It's very cozy and the staff is great. The prices are competitive with Amazon. Why not support a local shop? I look forward to spending more time here.
Love this. Exactly the fun and relaxed vibes this area needs. Great selection of books, board games, tabletop rooms, and a cool bank vault room! They also do coffee, beer, and wine. They started community events so look at their calendar
Such a well curated store for books, games, and fans of all things RPG. The space is adorable, lots of room to weave in and out to look at all the book/game titles. Plus, the rooms available for playing games are cozy and whimsical. The "vault" room is a wonderful extra touch. All in all, it's great to have this kind of store in the North Austin / Cedar Park area. Especially if you are a fan of Vigilante, Dragon's Lair, or Wonkos. This place is unique and yet still feels familiar and right at home for the community. Thanks to everyone at The Secret Lantern!
Occupying a former bank, this book and gaming store has some really cool ambiance. You can actually game or read a book inside of the original bank vault! The owners are really friendly, warm, and knowledgeable about genre books and tabletop gaming, given the fact that they are also professional Dungeon Masters. The store had its soft opening this past weekend. That means currently they aren't serving alcohol or coffee but that will be coming soon. Everything else about the store is open to the public for business. When I visited they had a great selection of books and TTRPG games. Besides the vault room, there are two other rooms that are available for rental for gaming groups as well. They also have a patio outside where you can relax with your purchase and enjoy the fall weather. Highly recommend checking out this place if you're looking for a cool bookstore!
An absolutely delightful, cozy, welcoming nerdy respite. They have a wonderful selection of books that any nerd would be excited about. I'm pretty particular about books, so I've never been interested in the "blind date with a book" offerings but I'd definitely do one here. They've got some side rooms with big tables for games too, it was all very chill and looked like a great place to hang out. Yummy snacks, funny greeting cards, cute stickers, and pretty dice too!
