The Bunker SLO

Very chill hangout place. Has great coffee great staff (they also provide loyalty punch cards) and has a lot of artwork to look at to entertain you in your stay. I rarely come to this side of town but if I have a good time to stop by I would. Would recommend.

Lovely little coffee shop! I walk here on the weekends and drive past during the week. I love the staff, they are all very friendly. They tend to run out of bananas for the Sol bowl pretty often but always offer a different extra ingredient to make up for it. I’m not actually a coffee drinker anymore but have been drinking tea latte’s and Chai. Also, love the new energy drink. My family orders plenty of coffee and other treats! Love it here 💕

A lovely and much needed community space for our neighborhood. Every month there is a new artist being showcased. And there are art classes, workshops and music in the evenings! And art studios in the back for local and visiting artists! And, the Nautical Bean is in house selling delightfully consistent and perfect lattes served by smiling friendly folks! And they even have pup cups! This place is amazing and special and I highly recommend it, 5 stars!!

This review is for The Bunker, which is the vessel that holds Nautical Bean, artist studios, the gallery, and the community event space. The ladies who curate and run this building are amazingly talented, kind, creative humans. The rotating display of artwork from community organizations, individual artists, creative collectives, and others are thoughtful and evocative. They have highlighted topics such as mental health, the climate crisis, motherhood, storm chasing, and so much more over their short couple years of being open. They host a variety of workshops, music events, and other performing arts several times each month that makes finding something to do easy for those who prefer not to spend our outings in downtown SLO. This is truly a community space that only aims to elevate art and connection within San Luis Obispo. If you don’t like what is featured one month, come back the following month for a whole new experience. This intimate space is truly one of a kind.

The Bunker never misses!! Nothing beats a cup of coffee and some good art. (Extra love for the community sketchbook and crayon boxes!) Current show, Repent, is absolutely fantastic! Was in awe the moment I walked in and am still chuckling over some of those paintings. Cheers to America’s Coolest Teenager, the aptly named artist. Looking for a safe space with good energy? You’ve found it! Can’t wait to see what is in the Bunker’s future! Huge fan.
