IKE Box

299 Cottage St NE, Salem, OR

Crema's Take

IKE Box is a charming downtown Salem gathering spot housed in a beautifully repurposed historic building that feels like a local secret, complete with excellent natural light and a genuinely chill vibe that keeps regulars coming back. While the coffee is solid and the breakfast sandwiches and pastries are genuinely tasty, what really sets this place apart is its role as Salem's go-to meeting hub—friendly service, reasonable prices, reliable wifi, and surprisingly manageable parking make it feel like a true community living room rather than just another café. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for hours without pressure, whether you're working, meeting friends, or grabbing lunch on a road trip.

Long wait time for food. Coffee is tasty but not spectacular. Excellent central meeting spot where parking is not a complete hassle. Clean dining room and restroom.

We thought this place was great, just what we were looking for! Stopped in for lunch and a drink on road trip up to Portland. Great character, nice simple food options, plenty of drinks, and they actually know how to make a ☕️! Staff were nice and friendly, we were surprised there weren't more people there at lunch time.

Man, if you live in Salem you have to know this spot. Cool building, great coffee, outstanding service and an overall chill vibe. Th we have plenty of meetings space and it’s not expensive to rent at all. I have a group I meet with in Salem and I always bring everyone coffee and pastries from there. It’s a sure thing to make everyone happy. Highly recommend.

Pretty darn tasty breakfast sandwiches and pastries! Parking was difficult for a Saturday morning but worth the circling. We stopped by en route down the coast, and it had a local vibe with really cool old town theater decor. Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a rush, just hungry.

Charming and beautiful cafe in downtown Salem. It seems like a repurposed library of sorts but they have made excellent use of this space. There’s plenty of natural lighting during the day. This place really has a nice vibe and reminds me of a college building. Excellent spot for remote work, studying, writing or whatever you are into. The food is also surprising good. I got a mocha and sandwich, they were very well prepared. Highly recommend visiting this place in the morning time
