The Tea Lounge

My husband and I went to the St Regis for the Spooky afternoon tea and were not impressed. The sandwiches, especially the vegetarian ones, were dry and flavorless. They consisted basically of a slice of soggy bread and a piece of dry cheese on top. The waiter told us that they prep everything in the morning so it's ready so I presume they had just been sitting out all morning. The service was also not great. The servers were not that attentive and often in the back kitchen area so we had to constantly wait to get our tea cups refilled. We had also planned on ordering champagne but it was never offered to us as an option. The harpist was a nice touch, but overall I don't think the service and experience was what I would expect given the price and the St. Regis brand and name.

My friend and I celebrate our birthdays each year with a fancy tea experience. Over the years we have tried several different afternoon tea services in Houston. St. Regis is our favorite by far. The setting, teas, food, and service are all top-notch. Additionally, the staff recently assisted me over the phone with the purchase of my favorite tea that they serve. I highly recommend booking afternoon tea here.
