Pavement Coffeehouse

Crema's Take

Pavement Coffeehouse strikes that rare balance between being a serious espresso destination and a genuinely welcoming neighborhood gathering spot where you can linger with your laptop or catch up with a friend over a carefully pulled shot. The shop earns its reputation by keeping things focused—excelling at traditional espresso drinks and pour overs rather than chasing every trend—while housemade pastries and light food options make it easy to settle in for a while. It's the kind of Boston institution that feels both unpretentious and intentional, where the coffee craft is evident but never intimidating.

What to expect

Espresso-focused, with a pour-over program. A laptop-friendly, quick-grab spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu.

Cool shop, but it’s not the place for espresso snobs. Lattes have a ratio of espresso to milk- this was pretty far off. Far too milky and the espresso was bland. Really enjoyed the seating and location. Wanted to love the coffee but unfortunately, it wasn’t great.
