Crema's Take

Nestled in Baltimore's Open Works creative space, Black Acres Roastery brings genuinely excellent, carefully roasted coffee to a community-minded venue where you can linger over a pour over or espresso without pretension. Beyond the standout coffee itself, they're creating small moments of delight—think lavender vanilla lattes paired with savory egg frittatas and blueberry jam biscuits that surprise and satisfy in equal measure. It's the kind of place where both the coffee and the care behind it shine through on every visit.

I used Too Good To Go and was pleasantly surprised with the variety in my bag! The croissant and the bagel needed to warmed in a microwave, but the apple crumble muffin was delicious! A great value for $5.

I have never been to this coffee shop but their Aponte Honey Colombia coffee beans sold at Trader Joe’s is one of the best coffee value prop in the market. Perfectly roasted - not dark to the point where oils start separating, delicious flavor , versatile for almost any kind of extraction (maybe with the exception of a French press). Very few “hipster” roasters brands and coffee shops live up to the hype. The consistency of the bean , roast, flavor profile is definite proof that Black Acres delivers hype and more substance to coffee lovers! If you’re reading this , Don’t change anything about the Colombia Honey Aponte - please!

Black Acre Roasters has been consistently excellent every single time I visit. The coffee is always top-notch, fresh, and full of flavor, and you can tell they truly care about quality. What really sets them apart, though, is the service—friendly, attentive, and dependable. It’s rare to find a spot that maintains this level of consistency, but Black Acre does it with ease. Whether it’s a quick morning stop or a relaxed afternoon visit, they always deliver a great experience. Highly recommend

Who would have known that an egg frittata with blueberry jam on a biscuit would be so DELICIOUS?! I came for the coffee but was delighted about that little sandwich. My coffee was excellent; I thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed to work for a little - the chairs and tables are not super conducive for staying long periods of time but I love the space generally, and think the building is super cool. They have a walk-up window too, which is nice. Oh, how could I forget the roastery?!!! I peeked through the window and thought the behind the scenes process was so dope! And the smell of freshly roasted coffee?! Cannot compare. Will certainly pop back here!

I'm so happy Black Acres is here at Open Works! Excellent service, great coffee - lavender, vanilla latte is tasting and soothing, especially when it's paired with their frittata breakfast sandwich, with maple bacon and freshly baked English muffin (everything) ---- EPIC!!! I highly recommend this hip and modern coffee shop for those who want to be in a well lite creative space. The shop is right off Greenmount inside of the orange and white Open Works building. Park in visitors spot at the building or there's street parking on Greenmount and I felt very secure in the neighborhood.
