Crema's Take
“Anuenue Cafe is a casual beachside breakfast spot in Poipu where you order at the counter and grab a seat overlooking the ocean or take your food straight to the sand—it's the kind of place that nails the Hawaiian plate lunch experience without pretension. Their signature Shark omelette is legendary among regulars, loaded with Kalua pork, Portuguese sausage, and bacon bits, and the Surfer Bowl has earned raves for its generous portions and quality ingredients like thick, pillowy bread and perfectly cooked eggs. Expect a short wait on busy mornings and genuinely friendly service, all for the kind of breakfast that tastes like a proper Kauai morning.”

Solid spot. My partner got the Kalua Pork Fried Rice and was disappointed that the rice wasn't what most people know as Chinese fried rice - the texture wasn't the same, and was more like rice grilled on one side. It was still very good. I got the Surfer Bowl without the cheese sauce, and it was incredible. Highly recommend.
It was a Monday morning and there were a small queue, we probably waited for 10 minutes or so which was we didn’t mind. We ordered the Shark omelette and the Surfer Bowl, I devoured the Surfer Bowl so fast and forgot to take a photo! Honestly both dishes were above our expectation, especially the Surfer Bowel that was an incredibly delicious splash of energy to start the day, the jalapeno really added so much flavours, two thumbs up!
OMG SO SO SO GOOD. This is not a full blown stop and eat restaurant. You walk in, order, and take in to-go containers. There is seating right next to the little place, or take to-go the beach and sit at picnic tables! All our food was delicious. I have pictures of what we ordered but I don't remember all the orders. I know someone in our group ordered avocado toast and it came on chibatta bread I think, and it was more like a guac sandwhich, not sliced, so if you love avocado, you shouldn't be dissapointed with the amount on your bread. All the eggs were cooked fabulously. All the fried rice bowls to die for. I almost forgot, we ordered the French toast with the lemon and Lilikoi curd, different, but totally worth getting and trying, super good, making my mouth water thinking about it.
Service was fast and friendly. The bread was thick and soft. Liked the eggs and sausage. Haupia topping was light in coconut flavor. Went here because of the haupia topping. Not sure if anyone remembers okis diner with pancakes topped with warm haupia sauce. Miss that. Good breakfast and worth the travel from Lihue.
Perhaps the best omelet I’ve ever had! The Shark is a must have — three eggs, bacon bits, Portuguese sausage bits and Kalua pork, with shredded cheese. To die for! And comes with a side of overnight oats with mango. Incredible. My wife had the avocado toast…she said it was amazing. Only one table to eat at, so “get cozy” and sit next to others who will join you.
