La Colombe Coffee Workshop
5158 N Clark St, Chicago, IL
Crema's Take
“This sprawling Chicago workshop excels as a laid-back gathering spot with genuinely cozy vibes and plenty of elbow room, making it equally suited for laptop work or lingering conversations over drinks. Their creative signature beverages like the caramel banana brûlée latte show real ambition, though reactions are mixed on whether the execution lives up to the concept—the coffee itself earns praise from some visitors but skepticism from others. The buttery croissants (particularly the almond variety) are a reliable highlight, and paired with their matcha options and relaxed atmosphere, it's an easy place to settle in for a while.”

Atmosphere great. They dont have a way to warm their pastries so those aren't great. The coffee is disappointing in my opinion. Carmal banana brulee tastes too artificial. Didn't like their strawberry mocha. Didn't like their strawberry matcha. I've gone three times now trying to give it a chance but I just don't like their drinks.
Stopped in at La Colombe for the first time yesterday. I ordered a hot caramel banana brûlée latte and my friend ordered an iced caramel banana brûlée matcha. The rich sweetness of the caramel banana brûlée flavor complemented the earthy matcha perfectly. Both drinks were very good.
Great coffee, pastries, and lots of space for seating. Good location to grab a cup and work remotely or relax.
The coffee is well located and has a cozy atmosphere. They offer a variety of croissants, drinks, and desserts. I had an almond croissant, and it was well made. I visited in the morning, and although it was a bit crowded, the staff were efficient, and the queue moved quickly. Overall, it’s a nice place to stop for morning coffee or to simply recharge your batteries.
Very relaxed, comfy vibes at this cafe. They have a nice selection of croissants and drinks. I had the almond croissant, which came with delicious inner fillings. The croissant size is nice and large. It was very yummy, very tasty, and well made; I highly recommend it. A bit crowded which is totally expected for such great food (still found a table), though it still felt spacious. Staff was nice as well. It also felt like people were productive at this cafe, studying and the like. Very enjoyable place.
