Crema's Take

Huckleberry's in Clovis is a generous, unpretentious spot where massive breakfast skillets and chicken and waffles draw folks back repeatedly, with one reviewer even making the drive from an hour away. The vibe here leans cozy and family-friendly—the kind of place where you can linger over coffee and pastries without feeling rushed, and portions are so hearty they're meant for sharing.

My fiancée and I went there yesterday afternoon around 12:30pm on a Thursday. We were excited to enjoy a nice lunch date. We have been to other locations but not this one which was closer to our house. We sat in the waiting area for about 10 minutes which was normal. We were then sat down. In our booth, we looked through the menu for over 12 minutes and were ignored the entire time. The waitress assigned to us did not even bring us water which is normal routine. Then the decision came for us to leave when our waitress sat another pair of people and asked them immediately what drink that they wanted to order. We have been sitting here 12 minutes with no service and she literally sat down another group and already serviced them! We were flabbergasted! It’s like we were ignored on purpose as other workers would just walk by us. We decided to take our business to IHOP down the street! Where we were sat immediately and served the actual food within 10 minutes! I’m not too sure who manages this restaurant but they are not doing a good job! I’ve never walked out of a restaurant in my life! Anywho the couple next to us there complained about their food being soggy and the waitress didn’t even apologize! This was a real bad experience for us and we will never visit a Huckleberry restaurant again! I’ve added a photo of what we ate at IHOP! They came to the rescue and saved our lunch date! Thank you IHOP!

Live about an hour away but made a stop in Clovis to visit a friend and couldn’t resist grabbing a late breakfast here. Just as good as I remembered—huge portions, excellent value, and outstanding service. Oh came on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait.

Great food. I ordered the Mississippi ans its one tasty breakfast skillet. Could be shared by two people. Of course I upgraded to a 1/2 waffle.

Extremely Disappointed at Huckleberry’s – Clovis/Shaw I recently had a concerning experience at Huckleberry’s. My husband’s prescription Oakley glasses were left behind. When I returned not even 5 mins later the busser who wiped our table claimed he hadn’t seen them. After searching with the manager, the glasses were still missing. When I requested that the manager review security footage, the same busser suddenly retrieved the glasses from the trash—completely broken in half. There was no food residue, and the table had only a few cups remaining. Busser also claimed to have washed the broken glasses, yet there was not a drop of water on them. It appears the glasses may have been handled improperly or intentionally damaged. The police were only provided footage of the dining area, not the kitchen or trash bins, where this incident occurred. Most establishments have cameras covering those areas, so it’s unclear why this crucial footage wasn’t provided . This is extremely disappointing. Customers should feel safe trusting staff with personal belongings, and this experience shows a serious lapse in professionalism. I have emailed and called the owner Ray with no response. I hope management addresses this issue promptly. I cannot recommend this location until staff conduct and security measures are reviewed.

The food was good overall. The chicken and waffles were delicious! 🤤 The beignets were tasty for my palette, yet my friend thought they were just ok. I was hoping for country style chunky potatoes with red skin, but they weren’t what I hoped for. The poached eggs…well, they didn’t look poached and they tasted sour, just get fried or scrambled eggs.
