Bodega

Crema's Take
“Bodega brings creative energy to Charleston's coffee scene with signature drinks like the Palmer (a refreshing coffee-lemonade blend) and inventive espresso creations that keep customers coming back for more. The casual, lively atmosphere makes it a solid spot for meeting up or grabbing brunch, though the kitchen's execution on food can be inconsistent—your best bet is sticking to their specialty coffee drinks and lighter fare.”

My wife and I went in to try this place for breakfast and were so excited to try it. The food was the WORST. Our bacon was so hard you could hear my jaw popping. My egg was fried so hard it was chewy. Her sandwich was the same. We ordered coffee. She got hers after we sat down, but mine didn’t arrive until I was walking out 15 minutes later. The staff was very sweet, though. after I took 2 bites of my food we just couldn't do it , it wasn’t worth $52.17. You live and learn. We will not be back, which is so disappointing. Oh well!
my sister and i came in during the last half-hour that they were open, and you would’ve thought we were holding them back from an nordstrom rack end of year sale. none of the employees seemed happy to be there. the matcha and cold brew was super yummy, but i thought their pesto was too salty. my sister got the gropfather and it was BANGIN. vibes were super cool but the customer service could use a tune up lol. vegan options!!!
Tried the gropfather sandwich and the palmer iced coffee. The palmer was delicious! Perfect blend of coffee and lemonade for a tasty daytime drink. The gropfather tasted very good but the chicken cutlet was a little rough making it hard to chew, not for the sensitive teeth!
Decided to stop after church on Sunday for brunch with 3 kids under 7. The good things were it was loud and they had Disney on TV. The less notable items are the line was long to order at the counter and then to wait for the food was also long especially with kids. The food was good though. We didnt have trouble parking but the lot does get full. I did notice a drive thru which is great! I will be back but maybe not with the kids!
My boyfriend and I loved it here! The chopped cheese sandwich, cookie’s favorite latte and nutella espresso were the best things we tried from here. We wanted to try everything - everything on the menu sounded delicious. The menu selection was also huge! The food was so good we even came back the next day. Service is fairly quick and the servers were very kind and patient. The aesthetic/atmosphere inside is beautiful - it seemed like we were staring at the walls for forever! Next time we come to Charleston we will definitely be coming here again.
