Voyageurs Bakehouse - De Pere
109 N Broadway, De Pere, WI
Crema's Take
“This charming bakehouse earned serious respect from a French visitor for nailing authentic croissants, and the sourdough cinnamon roll strikes that perfect balance of restraint and craft that specialty bakers chase. The newly expanded De Pere location radiates warmth and light—the kind of thoughtfully designed space where you'll actually want to linger with friends over consistently good coffee and exceptional bread, all shepherded by a genuinely sweet owner who clearly cares about getting the details right.”

As a French person, I know what a good croissant should taste like — and this one absolutely nailed it. From the moment I saw the pastries in the window, I had a feeling this would be the best croissant I’ve ever had in Wisconsin — and I was right. After the very first bite, it instantly felt like home. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, buttery and light at the same time: everything you want in a perfect croissant 🥐 Their sourdough bread is also one of the best I’ve tried in Wisconsin. I’ve been searching for bread that truly tastes like home, and I finally found it here! I highly recommend Voyageurs Bakehouse if you’re looking for authentic French-style croissants and bread. Even though I haven’t tried the other pastries yet, I’m sure they’re just as delicious. Thank you for helping me rediscover these flavors I love so much 😋👩🏻🍳🥐
My first visit at this location, I am impressed. Multiple visits to the Green Bsy location, primarily to have the Reuben sandwich. On calling the Green Bay location, I was informed they no longer serve the Reuben, but it was still available at the (East) DePere and Appleton locations. So, I ordered ahead (it takes awhile to make) and headed to DePere. Located in what had been a nice Italian coffee shop, the shop is bright, airy, with nice high ceilings, old brick walls and pleasingly creaky hardwood floors. Variety of seating options. Children’s play area. Clean, modern handicap friendly bathrooms with changing stations. Yes. Hits all the right buttons. Really comfortable interior. The Reuben is not inexpensive at $18, but worth every penny. Fresh Voyageurs seeded country bread perfectly grilled encasing a nice balance of Maplewood pastrami, Roth aged Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and sauerkraut. A gourmet Reuben, worth every penny. Nice Cappuccino served in ceramic with perfect microform made on a La Marzocco machine. So good. Excellent service. Maybe won’t go back to Green Bay Voyageurs! Most highly recommend.
Such a lovely space! Full of light and warmth. I wish I would have had time to sit and stay. I picked up a sourdough cinnamon roll. It wasn’t overly sweet and the texture was just right. I’d love to come back to try the breads and other menu items.
Very excited about the new location! So cute inside definitely a place to come and hang out with friends! The owner is very sweet! The coffee is always good and the bread is so delicious!
I recently visited Voyageurs Bakehouse and had an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods and rich, aromatic coffee. The ambiance is warm and cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done.
