Crema's Take

Tucked into Woodfords Station, this charming cafe feels like a beloved local secret with genuine warmth baked into every interaction—the staff's friendliness is as much a draw as their made-from-scratch pastries and hearty sandwiches. It's the kind of place where dogs are celebrated (sometimes even meeting Santa), families linger over breakfast, and the cozy blend of café, gift shop, and free library creates an inviting third space that rewards both quick coffee runs and longer stays.

Super friendly staff that create super yummy sandwiches. Their baked goods are made on site and soooo good. Reasonably priced and well worth a stop.

We stumbled upon Mad Dog Cafe at Woodfords Place and what a lucky find! This spot is absolutely charming, with friendly staff, cozy vibes, and a dose of good old-fashioned hospitality. I had a toasted bagel with cream cheese and Erik ordered a hearty breakfast burrito. We grabbed a couple of coffees to go and were impressed with the quality and value. After breakfast, I explored the adjacent shop and picked up a few fun gifts for family—pickled quail eggs, bacon queso, and Saritta Teriyaki Sauce, all from the Stonehill label. They carry a great selection of items, and the prices were more affordable than I’ve seen elsewhere. This little stop has more than just breakfast—it offers beer, soda, ice cream, sandwiches, and snacks to fuel your adventure. There’s even a small art gallery tucked inside, adding to the charm and local flavor. Whether you’re passing through or looking for a Plan B like we were, Mad Dog Cafe is a gem worth pulling over for.

Charming little cafe with good indoor and outdoor seating, knick knacks, an ATM, and a little free library. The staff were friendly, but with a large party, the food took about 45 minutes and they missed my order.

The Mad Dog Cafe makes excellent sandwiches and more, and I thoroughly enjoyed The Avalanche. The few bites I had of The Wall were quite tasty - so much so that I almost wish that I had gotten that sandwich instead (next time). Very comfortable atmosphere, and the staff are quite friendly, very helpful, and skilled.
