Wild Rye

Crema's Take
“Wild Rye is a laminated pastry destination that takes their craft seriously, with croissants and cinnamon rolls that justify the hype through buttery, crisp-yet-tender layers and thoughtful fillings like walnuts and raisins. The quiches are equally compelling—silky centers wrapped in perfectly crunchy phyllo—making this as much a bakery pilgrimage as a coffee stop. Whether you're grabbing something quick before work or settling in for a slow morning, the team's commitment to quality (they'll happily replace an off day) and their early opening hours make Wild Rye feel like a neighborhood gem that takes care of regulars and first-timers alike.”

Definitely a top quality bakery. Croissants are great. I once had a bad experience with their sourdough being undercooked. They must be having a bad day but they graciously replaced it. I usually get their croissant and then walk up to monorail espresso for coffee to dip it into( cappuccino etc) and that combination is delicious
A little bit life changing. We got the quiche and cinnamon roll. The quiche's center was silky and flavorful. It's phyllo dough was the perfect amount and gave a satisfying crunch. The cinnamon roll...so well caramelized. The dough is laminated like a croissant yet still dense like a brioche dough cinnamon roll. There is also a big clean glass kitchen besides the bakery. You can see the bakers sharing their craft with us.
I dropped in here based on the online pictures of their cinnamon roll. It lived up to the hype, even though I ate it the next morning! The croissant-style layered dough was buttery, crisp, and soft all at once. The amount of icing was just right, too. Up there with the best cinnamon rolls I have had.
I’ve passed this bakery many times and have been planning to stop by for quite some time. I finally visited on a Thursday close to 1 pm. There were still items on the shelf but the employee informed me that since it was closer to the end of the day, they weren’t as stocked as they are at the beginning of the day. I got their plain Parisian croissant. It was absolutely delightful! I will definitely be back here on a weekly basis!
I’ve walked by this bakery many times and was excited to see it finally open. They seem to specialize in laminated pastries. I bought a cinnamon roll, which is chock full of walnuts and raisins - think more like an extremely cinnamony pain aux raisins rather than a traditional fluffy American cinnamon roll. Flavors were good but a little too sweet and sugary for me.
