HiFi - Upshot Clayton

Upshot Coffee HiFi in Clayton on Maryland is a cute little place to grab a coffee. There is very limited seating inside where music is being played from a collection of albums that’s out on the shelves (see pictures). My wife and I both liked our drinks and for a busy Saturday morning felt the service was efficient. We did not order any kind of food so I’m unable to provide comment about their offerings. The music/hi-fi theme is part of the decor. Due to the tight seating and volume of the music, we did not sit down to enjoy our beverages. Although there is seating outside, the weather was not hospitable and we also didn’t sit outside at one of the tables on the sidewalk. Given this shop is on a busy street sitting outside this coffee shop probably isn’t optimal if quiet or a conversation is on the agenda. The environment/ atmosphere (vibe) is definitely suited to a younger demographic. As you’ll see in the pictures you’re not going to have a private conversation or quiet. If you’re looking for a coffee shop to sit down, enjoy your beverage and talk or read a book, this is not the place for you. We felt the price of the beverages that we had was definitely skewed to the Clayton clientele. It’s unlikely we will return, but I think the concept and product they’re putting out could be appealing to a different demographic.

I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in the door! The indoor seating area is on the smaller side with little space between tables, but I had planned to take my order to go anyway. I like the seasonal drink options and the vibe of the shop. The seasonal matcha was delicious!

Small place, but they’re pretty efficient, and the food is absolutely astounding. Probably the best breakfast place I found in the Clayton area. And the cool thing is, they have records everywhere that you can peruse. It’s seriously one of the cutest places, and I can’t wait to go back.

Love this place, Staff is lovely, coffee and even chai is all top notch and finally the food is delicious. Best breakfast burrito I have found in the city. The last time we were in my wife and I split the Avocado Toast and it was a perfect snack. Not a negative for me but they do play music on the loud side for meetings so if that's the goal, come back solo. You will not be disappointed. Edit Another visit another amazing meal... The french toast is 🔥. Add the bacon and easy egg. So good.

Walking in, I already looked at a menu online so I knew exactly what I wanted to order. Sadly the breakfast burrito I wanted was sold out but a couple employees were so very kind and helped me choose another food item as I am very indecisive. Everything was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was very pleasant as they had older tunes playing and lots of people laughing, studying, and just enjoying themselves. After I paid for my order they already had my coffee ready. Everything was served so quickly! I can’t think of anyway they can improve as this was a perfect experience! Will be returning very soon!
