Crema's Take

This East Village spot has cracked the code on creative matcha drinks, where signature creations like their kinako mochi and lavender oat milk lattes shine brighter than their straight matcha offerings—expect rich, thoughtfully balanced flavors that lean playful rather than purist. The strawberry matcha is their calling card for good reason, balancing fresh syrup with creamy texture, though you'll want to skip the basic matcha latte and go straight for their inventive specialty menu. It's the kind of place that feels like a matcha lover's secret, where the creativity makes up for what the traditional preparations might lack.

i’ve gotten the strawberry matcha and the kinako mochi matcha latte - without a doubt my fave matcha place in the city. it’s creamy and packs a good flavor without it being too sweet, and every flavor combo they have is so inventful. line can get crowded sometimes but it’s worth the wait x

The matcha here isn’t great on its own as a latte. The quality is decent but not amazing. I would only get their specialty drinks here, not a regular matcha latte

While I’m not a huge fan of their strawberry matcha (though one of my friends loved it it’s just too thick for my taste) I am HOOKED on their lavender matcha with oatmilk. They use one of the actually good brands of oatmilk (Oatly Barista), their matcha is rich and bright in flavor, and the lavender adds a delicious floral and fruity pop (tastes a bit like cereal milk to me in a way that lavender often does) while not being too sweet. It’s a nice middle of the road level. Not a ton of seating inside but it’s often still available on weekdays. I also love to grab a matcha to go to sit in Tompkins Square Park. They’re a bit expensive if you want an iced drink, but I do enjoy every time I go :)

Matcha was bland. I genuinely couldn’t taste the flavor and I didn’t get any additional flavors so that doesn’t make sense. They charge an extra $1 for ice drinks and extra to add more matcha. The cup it comes in is cute, but definitely don’t go here if you are looking for good quality matcha.

The strawberry matcha latte is not bad. The matcha is a bit weak and on the milky side but has a good green color. The strawberry syrup tastes really good like it was just freshly made. It is hard to mix into drink the type of container+straw so it’s going to be very strawberry heavy at first. There’s not a lot of seats inside but there is cute merch, stationery, and blind boxes for sale inside as well.
