L Cafecito Jumping Bean
2010 S Damen Ave, Chicago, IL
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside an L stop, this cozy spot punches above its weight with standout bagels like jalapeño cream cheese and surprising tea selections alongside solid coffee, though the tight quarters mean it gets wonderfully chaotic during rush hour. The team genuinely listens to feedback and keeps the vibe warm and welcoming, making it worth timing your visit for off-peak moments when you can linger over a tuna sandwich or salmon bagel without the crowd spilling onto the platform.”

The drinks are good most of the time but the attitudes are not. Don’t come close to closing or during a rush, they can’t handle it and it shows. Not worth the random attitudes and bad vibes tbh. Poor customer service ruined the experience.
I love this coffee shop. It's close to my house, and I often stop in for a tuna sandwich or a salmon bagel. Surprisingly, they have good tea) And workers are always friendly.
I wanted to try a few times before making a review. I guess for those ppl that are content with anything this is ok. But in comparison with it's big sister Jumping Bean, I can definitely tell you I rather the travel to go there. It seems there's so many orders coming in that the person making sandwiches sometimes gets overwhelmed and it shows in the quality of the sandwiches. Unfortunately yesterday I got the short end straw. My focaccia sandwich got burnt from the toaster to the point that the bread got hard, now you can see how this can impact your experience. I will say, ingredients are really fresh and crisp. Their tomato soup is TOP TIER! However they don't have set days of when the soup is available. All in all I'd go back but i will be selective of the times I go. I may also give them a heads up about not burning the bread to my sandwiches if they seem busy.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the area! I love their jalapeño bagels with cream cheese! The service is so great. I had feedback on something and they took it well! They even welcomed it because they said they want to grow from it. I always come in for a cafe con leche with a jalapeño bagel with extra cream cheese! Sometimes I mix it up and get a morning bagel in a jalapeño bagel and it is so delicious. I just love the taste of the cream cheese with tomato and cucumber. Their soup is also so good. Today I got their turkey melt and broccoli soup and I loved it. The sandwich is huge and the soup is nice and thick. The veggies in the sandwich are so fresh too. They usually have a line out the door but they move through it pretty quickly.
Small cute shop located inside the L stop. There isn't a lot of seating and of there's a long enough line it will back out into the station. The food and coffee is great though and the service is fairly quick. Definitely one of the better cubanos that I've had. Weather permitting there is outdoor seating as well.
