Crema's Take
“Jake's feels caught between two versions of itself right now—recent changes have left regulars disappointed with smaller portions and higher prices, though the skeleton of what made it special (a solid Reuben, friendly staff, and that bodega-lunch-counter vibe) is still there. If you're a traditionalist looking for a quick sandwich and don't mind paying premium prices for inconsistent execution, it's worth a shot on a Saturday when other spots are closed. The real question is whether the new ownership will find its footing before loyal customers stop giving it chances.”

Thinking this place is under new ownership!! This place was the BOMB!! I went here to get my favorite sandwich, that cost 20$ and now Is very small, and the taste is totally different! The two men working are rude and mean! So Sad suck a nice place and now it’s went to He’ll!! Don’t waist your money, unless you want a let dowm! I’m Totally crushed over this One!! Such a good place, now it’s gone!!
I'll never go back here because of the ridiculous price: $18 for a mediocre small sandwich. I paid $17.95 for a Reuben sandwich. Everything was good, except for the corned beef. It was full of fat/gristle.
We ordered two gyros. The lamb was average, but the chicken gyro was the worst food I’ve ever tasted in my life. It clearly not fresh, smelly, and off-tasting. Even my friend, who isn’t picky, couldn’t eat more than a third.
I paid $17 something for a cornbeef sandwich and it was terrible and it didn't come with a pickle and it's so small had to take some of bread off and it's still small, I'm very disappointed and upset I spent $34 something for two sandwich and that was waste of money, these sandwiches should only be like $8 or $10 definitely not $17 don't waste you time or money on this place
Really amazing Reuben sandwich and friendly workers. It reminds me of my favorite bodega in New York City and was one of the few lunch spots open on Saturday in the area where I could get my hands on some classic Cleveland corned beef. The sandwich was loaded with very lean corned beef and had just the right amount of 1000 island dressing. They also had really good pickles served along side of the sandwich but I wish I ordered extra after tasting how yummy they were. Fair pricing and quick service. Quick walk from the arcade where I easily found a peaceful warm place to sit and eat my lunch.
