Daps Breakfast & Imbibe
280 Ashley Ave, Charleston, SC
Crema's Take
“Daps is a compact Charleston breakfast gem where the real estate is tight but the quality shines through, with a devoted following raving about standout dishes like their perfectly executed BLT and creative morning plates like mushroom spinach hash. The counter-service model and limited indoor seating give it a casual, energetic vibe that spills onto a welcoming outdoor patio, though you'll want to go early or late to dodge the crowds and stretch your budget. Their warm staff and consistently praised breakfast menu—from classic pancakes and French toast to creative burritos and breakfast clubs—make it worth the wait, even if the paper plates and plastic cutlery feel at odds with the care they put into each plate.”

Nice menu variety. Long wait for food and kind of pricy though for paper plates, plastic utensils, and order at the counter. All of this was $52 including tip.
The staff here are super nice! I got the mushroom and spinach hash and if I could give the owners three pieces of advice it would be: 1) please get metal cutlery in your dining room, plastic cutlery diminishes the experience so so much 2) You need diced potatoes to make a hash. (Or at least to be clear on your menu.) Shredded potatoes make hashbrowns. 3) Put salt and pepper at the tables. Overall, not bad, just not what I expected and I wasn't able to rescue it with salt bc there wasn't any.
Came here for breakfast with some friends, inside is super small only a couple seats but more available outside. The BLT was amazing, bacon was juicy and bread was toasted perfectly! Highly recommend!! The fruity pebble pancake was a fun treat and HUGE, could easily be shared! The bacon egg and cheese was okay, not my favorite. The egg was a block and the cheese was cheese sauce. Creative but sadly not for me. The mimosa flute was good and you can add flavorings, forgot to take a pic. Overall a good spot for breakfast with a creative menu, something for everyone.
At the moment, the hours are from 8 AM to 2 PM. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There are Uber eat pick up options for delivery. .Its a breakfast spot, pancakes, French toast, burritos and they also serve burgers. They had a unique pancake that was on the menu. It is made with a cereal that I grow up eating as a kid “Fruity pebbles” The pancakes are big.You don’t have to order a normal stack you could order one at a time and mix the different types they offer. I recommend eating it with a fork and knife.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious! I ordered the breakfast turkey club and it was so good! I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu! The service was great too. The seating is limited inside so be prepared to sit outside. There is plenty of seating outside. They do have heated lamps so that was much appreciated.
