Banh Mi & Rolls
2646 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA
Crema's Take
“This San Francisco spot is a no-fuss banh mi specialist where the real star is their in-house baked French rolls—crispy, fresh, and so good customers buy them separately to take home. Their Vietnamese coffee and made-to-order sandwiches hit the mark for a quick morning or lunch fix, with touch-screen ordering that keeps things efficient and minimal, though some find the bread-to-filling ratio could use recalibrating. It's the kind of casual gem where quality ingredients and authentic execution matter more than ambiance, perfect for anyone craving genuine Vietnamese flavors on their way out the door.”

Came here a few times and ordered banh mi sandwiches. Pros - Easy ordering using touch screen Minimal interaction Good options and promotion Cons - Cold not warm or toasty bread Too much bread, not much filling/meat Sloppy arrangement of the fillings, veggie taste not very pickled Expensive drinks Atmosphere too much posters, lotto stuff, and flour bags by the front going on. Parking on San Bruno always hard. Try residential.
The rolls are great (take some some home!). The veggie banh mi was a little dry (the taro + tofu + noodles could have used more mayo or something to compensate for the starchiness), but my partnerr liked her chicken banh mi!
There is nothing more exciting in the morning than freshly baked French rolls, Vietnamese coffee, and a Banh mi for lunch. This is one of those gems where the rolls used in its Banh mi’s are baked fresh daily. These are some of the best Bain mi’s in town. I’ve tried them all with my favorite being the combo pork and lemongrass pork. If I had more time, I would love to sit on the outside table watching traffic go by while enjoying my meal here. The best part is you can get 5 Banh mi’s or 4 Banh mi’s + 1 drink for $36. Nothing fancy, but good food and local ambience. Enjoy!
Tried Banh Mi & Rolls for the first time and it seriously hit the spot. I got the veggie banh mi and the lemongrass pork—both were loaded with flavor. The veggie one was crisp and fresh, and the lemongrass pork was tender, juicy, and packed with that savory-sweet lemongrass kick. We also had the Thai matcha green tea and an iced coffee. The matcha was creamy and just the right amount of sweet, and the iced coffee was bold and super smooth. Totally worth the caffeine overload. Great prices, fast service, freshly made rolls, large portions, and everything tasted super fresh. Definitely adding this to my regular lunch rotation!
Good place to get a Banh Mi on the go, the place sells lotto and makes their rolls in house, you can buy the rolls also. There are a few seats if you want to eat your food after ordering.
