Crema's Take

This espresso-focused spot has earned its stellar reputation through genuinely skilled baristas who treat each drink like a craft project and each customer like a friend, creating an unpretentious vibe that locals keep coming back to for years. The cozy, granola-tinged space feels like a pocket of old Salt Lake City charm, offering everything from meticulously pulled shots to creative specialty drinks at prices that won't break the bank. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in with a pastry and good company, the real draw here is the combination of seriously good coffee and people who actually care about making your visit special.

The coffee here is so damn good! The only thing better than the drinks are the amazing people making them. Each batista is so cool and kind, this is easily one of my favorite coffee spots. The food is made to order, which can take anywhere from 7-10ish min, & always tastes so fresh and yummy. The location is nice, but parking can be tight when it's busy. The inside feels bigger than the outside and there are 2 little patio options to sit at. If you haven't been here yet, please go check it out!!

I love this place. It has the best vibe, the prices are unbeatable for SLC cafes, and I’ve been going here regularly for years. Unfortunately, for the past few months, the milk has really been lacking. If you get a hot drink, you have a 25% chance of getting a product with actual frothed milk. I’m not sure if it’s how some of the newer baristas were trained and it’s spread, but I’ve never seen someone just splash the steamed milk into the cup from the side of the frothing pitchers and several baristas do it here. No attempt at correctly steamed milk or latte art which is what makes me feel like this is a result of training. I keep coming back because I’m a loyalist and the prices are so good. If I get a crappy latte, at least it was $5 instead of $7. But at this point, my boyfriend and I can walk in, see which barista is on the machine, and know if we’ll get a good drink or not. Just please aerate the milk more, y’all. This pic is from the moment we received our lattes.

Rosie KILLED it making my latte today. I wanted to try something new and she hit it out of the park. I went yesterday for the first time and loved the coffee so much I had to come back today for a second time. Absolutely love it here and will become a regular!

I like their black coffee medium roast. Cute space with granola feel! Cozy interior that retains the charm of SLC before Starbucks and Beans and Brew took over! Best part? Free ground coffee for pick up for gardening!! Why don't every coffee shop do that??

My sister and I had some time to kill some time before we can check into our Airbnb. So we looked up coffee joints near us and Higher Ground popped up. They looked pretty legit so we went and checked them out. Walking in, this joint is really neat. There's coffee bags lining the ceiling. There's a couple old chairs that you can chill at in the corner surrounded by plants. The light was shining brightly through the windows. It has a very chill, easy vibe here. We got a couple drinks ordered and a CaBreezy panini started. I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. My sister got a hot peppermint mocha. We chilled at the 2 big old chairs while our goodies were being prepared. My drink was so good! I did add a packet of Splenda and some cinnamon to my coffee, so tasty!! I appreciate that my americano wasn't watered down. I didn't get to try my sister's drink but she said it was really good! We did share the CaBreezy panini. It was delicious! It was balanced pesto, balsamic glaze and mozzarella. The tomato was fresh and ripe. The ciabatta was warm and crispy. I probably could have had another half but we are trying to save room for dinner. It was nice chillin here for a bit. Everything was great. The barista that was working did a great job on our drinks and food. Happy I got to check out this local coffee joint on this beautiful Sunday.
