Crema's Take

Tucked into Manhattan Beach, goodboybob Coffee Roasters has earned serious devotion for their standout matcha that reviewers can't stop raving about, paired with genuinely friendly service and an undeniably cute space that feels like a neighborhood gem. While their espresso-focused menu and pour overs are solid, it's the matcha that steals the show—people are genuinely considering making return trips just for another cup. Expect a lively weekend crowd and fair pricing, making it worth a detour if you're in the area.

First of all this place is so cute, the gentleman working at the front counter was very nice. But above all the Matcha just blew my mind. I might double back right now to get a second Matcha it is so good. I got the blueberry pie Matcha 10 out of 10.

Popular coffee shop with matcha and pastry options. Stopped by here with a friend as they were doing a popup collab with a perfume brand, and we wanted to grab some caffeine while we were waiting for our table for brunch. I had a hot matcha latte which was smooth and sweetened with honey. You have to wait outside while your order is being made, as the shop is quite small. Metered street parking available. You can pay via ApplePay / credit card.

GOODBOYBOB was pretty Good We went on a Sunday morning so you know you get what you get in Manhattan Beach. We got there pretty early around 8AM (not so early) and there was a decent crowd waiting outside already. Its a grab and go situation here with 2 or 3 tables on the sidewalk, none on the inside, and a small space able to queue maybe 3 to generously 4 people inside the door. Names for orders are called by yelling (maybe?) from the inside to the outside. I say maybe because we didn't actually hear anything, just saw our order on the counter which looked like our order and checked. Service! simple, uneventful, the staff were nice, but busy so good I'd say. Ambiance! eh, just go walk down to the beach and decompress from the wait lol. Menu! They have your standard fare menu, but their seasonal specials definitely are the way to go for me. I don't want to come back but will probably come back to try their summer specials! We ordered the Icy Blue Flash Brew and the Blueberry Pie Matcha Latte. The Icy Blue Matcha (note: not the ordered flash brew...but didn't want to bother with the line and wait) was actually the favorite of the two drinks. It has a good sweet, milk, and tea rate. The Blueberry Pie Matcha was visually pretty but wildly and overwhelmingly sweet. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to visit, but I'll probably be back in the summer to try their summer specials because I see the drink potential, and hope to get to try the coffee next time.

Got here right when they opened (accidentally) and decided to give it a try since there was no line ! I ordered an iced americano and it was solid. Price was fair. They had a really cool clock on the wall and my barista was super kind. I’d definitely go back !

We genuinely drove from Orange County to this place to visit Manhattan and have a solid beach day and enjoy the breakfast burrito. Low and behold, they do not serve the breakfast burrito at this location and I was genuinely so disappointed because we brought friends to try their burrito since it was one of the best burritos I have ever had in my life. They have breakfast options but like half the menu from their Santa Monica location. Was a big let down and huge bummer. However, my wife pointed out that they have a cosmic Ube drink that saved the day because my wife and I love a good Ube and Matcha Latte. Well, to our luck and the food gods, we were able to get both and the Ube Matcha was honestly very good. The Ube was the perfect amount and matcha was not over powering. Great flavor and sweetness that was not overbearing. I would definitely recommend getting their Ube Matcha with whole milk and give it mix and great option. Again, not a place I would recommend for breakfast food as they really only have like 3-5 options, but a good range of drinks and coffee offerings.
