Bread Pete German Bakery & Cafe

Crema's Take
“This Cape Coral gem is a genuine slice of Germany where the smell of fresh-baked bread hits you before you walk through the door, and owners Melanie and Gerhard's passion for authentic pastries and traditional coffee culture is evident in every bite and sip. Beyond the incredible homemade rolls and desserts, what sets Bread Pete apart is the thoughtful atmosphere—a cozy book nook, toys for kids, and genuinely warm service from staff like Kat—that makes it feel like a gathering place rather than just a cafe. Whether you're stopping by for a morning fresh roll or settling in for a full German breakfast with exceptional coffee, this is the kind of neighborhood spot where regulars become part of the family.”

We had an incredible experience! The rolls, bread, and desserts were truly amazing and very authentic! Our server Kat, was friendly and honestly just fun! And the owners, Melanie and Gerhard, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, as they did for every customer there! We definitely are looking forward to our next visit!
I love this place. Everything is delicious and the baked goods are fresh. Luckily within walking distance from the condo we rented, so I can walk over in the morning to get fresh rolls if I want to make breakfast at home. The German breakfast for two is not only delicious, but also a great value. Trying to work my way through the menu while I stay here 😃
Great German bakery with amazing homemade pastries, coffees, teas and fresh breads! Breakfast options are delicious and feel very authentic. Everything tastes super fresh and you can tell they bake with love. Staff are friendly, welcoming and happy to serve you. Highly recommend stopping by!
I am completely amazed and blown away by the ambiance of this place! You can smell the fresh baked bread and pastries from down the street. Cute book nook and toys for the kiddos. Coffee is out of this world! Only decaf for me but I was pleased to see that they have plenty of tea options as well. I tried the Dubai donut for a limited time. Was out of this world! Had a creamy pistachio filling in the middle and I highly recommend! I will definitely be back.
First time visiting Bread Pete German and it was absolutely fantastic! I got a free coffee for National Coffee Day, and the husband was so kind to take my drink back and add extra pumpkin spice which truly made it a 10/10. We learned that it’s fresh, and they boil the pumpkin which made it taste amazing. I also took home some cheesecake and fresh bread, both of which we will be trying soon. For lunch, I tried the Baguette Schnitzel, which was flavorful and crispy, a dish I’d never had before but loved love it (9/10). My dad had the German meatloaf with egg (9/10) and my brother’s lox with cream cheese on a bagel scored a 9.5/10. The place is cozy and charming, and the husband-and-wife team running it were incredibly kind and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Wish I knew about this place sooner.
