Cafe La Taza
2475 Mission St, San Francisco, CA
Crema's Take
“This San Francisco institution has earned a devoted following over the years by nailing the art of an unhurried morning—think generously portioned chilaquiles with perfectly fried eggs, tres leches pancakes, and a solid latte that keeps regulars coming back for a decade or more. Beyond the coffee, what sets La Taza apart is its willingness to blur breakfast traditions, weaving in creative touches like Quesadillas Salvadoreñas and elevated cocktails alongside classic huevos rancheros, all served in a beautiful space that feels equally suited for lingering with friends or stealing a quiet moment to yourself. The warmth of consistent, attentive service paired with kitchen creativity that respects both tradition and experimentation makes this a spot where comfort and discovery happen at the same table.”

Got the chilaquiles with fried eggs little over under with rice and beans. A very heavy and filling breakfast. They also have good coffee.
I’ve been coming to La Taza for over ten years and it’s still one of my favorite spots. The latte is solid, the 2-2-2 with pancakes is my comfort order, and I regularly get the classic breakfast with pork sausage and fruit or the chicken pesto sandwich when I want something with fries and all consistently great. I also always bring out of town family here for the best chilaquiles. The service is the biggest part of why I keep coming back. Everyone is friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming every time. It’s one of those rare places that just does everything right and makes me feel at home.
Best breakfast spot! Great food & service! I am in love with their steak & egg dish!
Food was amazing as usual, great service and delicious cocktails, I had bloody Marry and it was out of this world. Beautiful area and an awesome bar, thanks again Taza, I will definitely visit again when I come back to San Francisco!!!!!
Very good! The huevos rancheros were yummy and the tres leches pancakes were good but probably would not get again. Had the Quesadilla Salvadoreña for the first time and highly recommend!! The yucca fries were not great in terms of texture. Would come back
