I came to Childish with high expectations given all the hype, but I left feeling largely unimpressed. The selection looks great, but the taste didn't quite live up to the reputation. I tried the salted bread, and even after giving it the benefit of the doubt by reheating it in an air fryer to crisp it up, it was just "okay." It lacked the standout flavor or texture you’d expect from such a popular spot. In a town with so many competitive bakeries, this one didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Finally got to try the famous Korean salt bread. We were lucky with no line and started to order at the kiosk but had some questions so ordered at the counter. We got the salt bread, a taiyaki, and the matcha cream salt bread. They all tasted pretty good. The salt bread has a nice crunch on the exterior and the salt/butter flavor hits you right away. It was really enjoyable to eat but there is a lot of melted butter inside. I felt like the butter coated my throat after eating it. The taiyaki was huge and had red bean in it which was nice. Made fresh so pretty hot. Our favorite was definitely the matcha cream salt bread because it had a nice balance of flavors. Matcha quality seemed pretty good and had a strong flavor. The cream tasted very fresh as well. I would definitely come back to try more though probably the flavored breads because the salt bread had me feeling butter overloaded for a while afterwards.

You walk into this beautiful, fun and welcoming looking bakery. You walk up to the small display with the available bakery items and then the man tells you to order from the screen. No hello, hey how are you. That killed the vibe. I understand there may be a language barrier, but for the prices they are charging, they need to make an effort to provide an experience. Also, if you’re going to direct everyone to order through the screen, please be professional and take the time to put a photo for each menu item. A couple had photos, but the rest didn’t. Took a while to order bc I didn’t notice the items that did not have photos. The truffle salt bread was amazing. I loved the texture of the bread. Was a bit surprised it was hollow, but it was delicious. It’s also child-sized. The honey Texas toast was so freaking good! I loved the lavender seeds, added a nice touch. I also liked that it wasn’t too heavy on the honey. Was well balanced with the salt level. The texture of this bread is slightly chewy and it had a nice crunch on the outside/edges. The holiday cube was beautiful. It was filled with a light cream. It’s topped with mint, pomegranate seeds, fresh raspberries and chocolate - tasted good in one mouthful, minus the chocolate, which was overpowering. Would not order this again. Not sure, how many items they normally have, but they only had these items. Not really worth the drive if you’re only coming to Carrollton for this. I recommend ordering the matcha latte and the black sesame seed latte with some sweetness. We ordered both without and they tasted extremely healthy. And I typically order drinks unsweetened.

I really love the salt bread here. It’s super yummy, buttery, and has the perfect hit of salt that pairs so well together. The matcha salt bread with cream filling is another favorite, especially if you like something a little sweeter. I’ve been a couple of times and it’s consistently good, just expect a bit of a wait since the place recently went viral. Definitely worth it if you’re craving fresh, delicious salt bread!

First time having Korean salt bread and I think I’m in love. We got the regular salt bread and the truffle butter salt bread. I think the clear winner here is the truffle butter salt bread. One bite in and I was amazed. The line was out the door but once you place your order at the kiosk the wait is quite short. I will for sure be back to grab more of the truffle butter salt bread next time I’m in town.
